Fatal Frame: Entire Series Owned by Nintendo?

Zero ~ Tsukihami no Kamen, also named as Fatal Frame: Mask of Lunar Eclipse (tentative title), already known to be exclusive to Wii, produced by Tecmo and Grasshopper Manufacture, including directing from Goichi Suda / Suda 51, published by Nintendo who will also be handling all marketing and sales around the world... (*breath*) ...is also garnering a sweet new rumor:
As an interesting note, rumors have stated that the Big N has purchased the Fatal Frame name, and it looks like one of the industry's top horror franchises could now be a Nintendo exclusive from now on. This is exactly the kind of announcement hardcore gamers have been waiting for on Wii.

Considering the source, it feels comfortably reliable. Considering Nintendo having master control over this, the number IV in the series, the rumor feels even more reliable. What do you think of this rumor? does this make sense to you, does it make absolutely no sense, what's your "gut" telling you?
Oh and by the way the Fatal Frame IV gallery has been updated with higher quality pictures that are also watermark free. Same images, but better to look at and use for projects!

That being said, I think this particular franchise is REALLY going to boost-up the Wii. At least the past versions have been a really good mix of gameplay and horror. Let's hope this Wii exclusive will be, too.
Anyway, not having this game for other consoles is going to leave them with a very big void in the horror game genre.

Especially with this generation, I think games should be tailor made to the console, and not just designed to exist on everything. Theres a reason 50 million of the DS games are not on other machines.
THAT being said, I hope that Fataal Frame is tailored specificaly to everything the Wii is, NMH was perfect for Wii so I have no doubts.

Yeah, I know that would be ridiculously expensive and would ultimately drive game prices up and up and up... but still, wouldn't that be great?
PS: In the DS case, I have to agree that most games would lose their appeal if translated to a console with no touchscreen...

You add a simple gesture to something, and call it a selling point for a specific consoles game. I think from the ground up the game should have to console in mind when developing for it, and not what they can make in the game, and how to cut it around the controls.
Imagine if GTA was ported to wii, and they want you to actually steer all the cars like excite truck. messy messy messy.
If a game since it's early beginings has the controller in mind, than developers can use the controls more efficiently, and NOT make it feel like a cop-out inot the system.
Trauma Center can only operate under DS, Wii controls. You may be able to do tracing with a control stick sure, but really now.

So I think that if Fatal Frame can only be thought of from it's start as a wii game, it's going to be a much richer experience than a game that can exist on more systems. I actually did NOT lke RE4 on Wii, i was pumped, I bought it, played through the first area and traded it back in, i hated it. RE4 was designed with the control stick in mind.

But now that every console brand has come up with entirely different control and hardware schemes (even though X-Box 360 and PS3 are essentially the same), THE SAME GAME is not possible on every console, but THE SAME FRANCHISE should not suffer from that; and then we have a new Ninja Gaiden for the 360 and PS3, AND a different new Ninja Gaiden for DS (and some buzz about a yet different one for the Wii in the future). Now, THAT is what game developers should do! Let people enjoy a good game franchise across platforms!
But then again, Tecmo is risking and investing a lot into each development... biiiig risk that hopefully will pay off.
