Rumor: F-Zero Racing Onto Wii?

I believe now is when we all utter a collective "lol wut?"

Seemingly out of nowhere, German Nintendo site Planet-Nintendo.de posted a logo (seen above) for 'F-Zero Wii', a game they claim is coming out on the Wii. Rough translations mention online play and a weapon system, new to the F-Zero series. The article also mentions E3 ... maybe it's the game Reggie mentioned a while back? I guess we'll have to wait and see...

Screw weapons. Kicking the others off track with a spin is all we need.

Totally sweet.

Also, when I play F-Zero X, I've always thought "this would be better with guns". Like, weak ones that you only shoot forwards, not weapons like Mario Kart.

meh, I don't see the point of a weapons system, but i'll have to see how it's implemented before I can truly comment on it. assuming, of course,that this is actually real.
