That weapon is created to punish you for doing well. I hate it. I liked the version that hit everyone along the way, but that's an elegant weapon for a more civilised age.

you're not the only one who hates those nasty things. every time I make it to first place in a mk game I'm sure to be bombarded with 3 blue shells. WTF!?

What about when you're BARELY in 1st place and you get git by a blue shell (a kart passes you by; you're second now). Now you're getting ready to roll again and a red shell hits you from behind (obviously, the kart just behind you has now passed you by, leaving you in third place). You get over the frustration only to be hit by lightning and stay stunned a bit more. By now three more karts have left you behind and you're in the middle of the last lap... ¬.¬
(PS: I think that was the reason they implemented weapons in MK :wink: hehehe...but whyyyyy sometimes they all seem to be aimed right at you?!)

I'm glad I'm not the only one! Or what about after all that you finally get a good item and BLAM lightning bolt makes you lose it :D

And now for the 'up side' of these pesky items... what about when you're in fourth place, but you manage to get your wheels on a nice and tasty three-red-shell combo... and you easily make your way to first place by knocking your opponents with those red goodies? Or using Bullet Bill to soar to first place by knocking people over even when you could have EASILY avoided them and still pass them by? Aaaaah, those are the sssshhhhwwwweeeeet moments in MK :wink:

And there's nothing sweeter than hitting someone with a perfectly aimed green shell :D

And there's nothing worse than laying a sneaky banana skin trap for someone on one lap, only to fall for it yourself on the next :frown:

I got triple greens when in fourth on the last lap of N64 Mario Circuit. Bam! Bam! Bam! First place right at the finish. Very satisfying, especially as the person in second was a human.

I love teh green shells. if someone passes me in mario kart it should be of their own skill and not because they got the blue homing shell of darkness.

Just yesterday I was online against 10 other people... FINALLY I got to be in first place SECONDS away from the finish line on the last lap... I could almost taste it... but then, BAM! (Blue Shell) BZZZZ! (Lightning) POW! (POW!). ¬.¬ Thankyou... I ended up in fourth :frown:
(Yet I must admit that it was pretty fun :D )
