The Conduit 'Manual' Leaked Online
By Joel Luther. Saturday, 21. June 2008, 04:28:55

The Conduit has to be one of my most anticipated titles on Wii. We've posted a bit about it before ... but not much. Recently, it's been revealed in interviews and such that High Voltage is going to include three online multiplayer modes, as well as online voice chat - which would be a first for the Wii. High Voltage really is going for a 360-like experience with The Conduit.
But now, the meat of this post. The 'manual' for the game was leaked online this week, and it features a -ton- of information and art from the game. All of the art looks amazing, except for the somewhat drab environments...
To briefly summarize the story, Washington, D.C. is under attack by an alien race codenamed the Drudge. Mr. Ford, equipped with standard weapons and a device known as the All-Seeing Eye, is on a mission to uncover information regarding the attack and eradicate the country of The Drudge. The fate of the nation rests in his hands.
I hate to say it again, but this game really has a Metroid vibe - some of the enemies look like they were ripped right out of the Prime games - but hey, that's a good thing!

BTW, why is it that most aliens in video games are insect-like?! What's with the 'bendy' legs? Why can't they just be ugly beings who stand on two STRAIGHT legs like humans do? Why insects? WHY?!

Leaking this manual kinda emphasizes that to me. I really hope I'm proved wrong and it's amazing.

But tf they had it at e3 and it comes back positive gameplay aspects (not just shooting but some nice puzzles thrown in) then I'd be all for it.
It's good to see developers pushing the Wii's power for better graphics, as long as the gameplay and fun isn't taken away from the game in that process.

Captain, I don't think I'll get Spore (since I'm not a fan of simulators), but I did find this comic by 2P Start! quite funny: http://www.2pstart.com/2008/06/18/not-much-of-a-stretch/
