Wii Avatar/Profile Code stored in Wii Remote?

Last week or so there was a post on IGN about how they had gotten their hands on a spec sheet for the Wii Remote, but in classic IGN fashion, they provided no links or scans of documents. When contacted, they claim an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) with Nintendo forbid them from doing so... but they posted it all anyway? Shady.Part of the information they provided revealed that the Wii Remote has 6kb of "non-volatile" memory (Flash RAM) with no function listed. People speculated that it would be used for the internal speaker (I presume they mean as a buffer for the streaming sound information), but 6kb is super small for the types of sounds I heard at E3.
I suggest that the memory is more than enough to store the hinted at Wii Avatars that Miyamoto confirmed would be created for use in Wii Sports and "may show up in other Wii games and functions." What I am getting at is this: your Wii Avatar (or Wii Avatar code)is stored in your Wii Remote, so that when you go to a friend's house and bring your Remote, you never have to recreate yourself. Also, when Wii is turned on, it could sense what Remotes are connected to it, and provide the profile pages for those users quickly on demand removing the necesity for passwords or usernames to be entered when on the go.
Could this be one of those secret Wii functions?
Thoughts?
