Wii Shop Surprise

, , , , , , ,

Not only was the incredibly awesome Zelda: Ocarina of Time released on the Euro VC today, but if you log onto the Wii Shop, EU users will find a little surprise from Nintendo. The "Warp Zone" can be found on the front page of the Wii Shop, by clicking a little smiley emoticon.

"What is the Warp Zone?", I hear you cry. Well, at the moment it has some interesting facts about Zelda OOT - little easter eggs that you can find during the game. Not a great deal of use, but it's still a nice little surprise on a Friday morning. I guess it will also be used for new games that are released in the future. A nice touch for people new to the games.

Weird, I wonder if they have that on the American Virtual Console? I shall check that out later today.

NOE is so much better than NOA! p:

We don't even get "Star Points", or whatever they're called.

They're points you get for buying things/completing various tasks.

Here's a list of things you can "buy" with them:

You can also use them for Virtual Console downloads, I'm not sure what the exchange rate is though.

They can't be used for the Wii Shop just yet, which is annoying as I have a fair few saved up. It better be a good conversion rate.

In Germany, the conversion rate is 4 to 1. Not so good if you ask me...
