Last night a Wii J saved my life + Updates 3

, , , , , , ,

This has to be one of the most off-the-wall but useful modifications I have ever seen. DJ ! (pronounced "DJ shift 1") has figured out how to use two of his Wii Remotes to spin some trax! He calls this new mixing technique "WiiJing" (Wii Jay ing). Here's to the Wii giving techno-ravers, and hip-hopers, and re-mixers a new way to 'play'. Just watch the video after the break... This is pretty neat

+ Update: A second video has surfaced showing a little more in-depth to the fun, I have included the video. Also DJ! is going to Wii-J live at "BOOTIE SF" on "MAY 12"...

+ Update2: After writing DJ ! a message letting him know of the press we gave him as well as requesting that he mix some sort of Nintendo music with his mashup he wrote a reply that does not dissapoint:

Thanks for the second video post!!! Yea, i was thinking about working in
a nintendo song or two into the set. The set is going to be an all
mashup set at that particular show (since its a mashup venue), so
either i'll have to make a nintendo mashup or find an existing
one...but either way, i have a feeling one will show up for sure... smile
thanks for the support and press! - DJ !

+ Update3: Seampty just sent me a video link showing off the third video installment of the WiiJ project, In this video we see a new WiiJ mixing four Nintendo songs together! check it out! also the official website has had a really clean looking update!

How cool is that? If you want more info, and I mean alot more go the official WiiJay Website. Most of the info they have at the website is more technical than I am used to, but if you are a HxC dj or dj fan you should check it out.

To me this video immediately gave birth to the idea of a music game where you *gasp* play a dj who has to mix music with his Wii-Remotes.

seriously, how cool is that? tell us!

He's got alot of guts, actually allowing the world to see his dance moves. That was the best manipulation of a Nintendo product I have ever seen.

Pretty impressive, if only Nintendo actually supported this kind of stuff, then we might see actual games on the Wii like this. Maybe on the virual console.

Well they do have the orchestra one that Miyamoto played at E3, and the one they had on the E3 demos where you played drums.

If they released those games it would be awesome. Guitar would work perfectly.

It would be nice to have Samba de Amigo for Wii (the one of DC)

Sega should make a Samba de Amigo for the Wii. That would sell like hot cakes.

AntonCaptainSeagull Monday, February 5, 2007 1:21:14 AM

Sega should put Jet Set Radio in the hands of Wii Controllers as well.

Giovanni MedinaWiidark Monday, February 5, 2007 5:47:28 AM

I thought of that as well a while ago.
