Campus Crew - Aguascalientes, Mexico

Hi everyone!

I'm so very happy to share another day in Expositeca this is the fifth day of our participation, actually is the sixth because I attended one previous day of the event for install the Opera Software Stand

Unfortunately anything is eternal and has arrived time to say goodbye to Expositeca , it was a great event, an excellent idea that haven't ever made in Aguascalientes, it was an historical event and We're proud to say that Opera Software was there! And we hope that the next year will be even better, would be great that someone from the Opera Staff come at these days to enjoy the fair and promote Opera in the bigger Aguascalientes celebration

Were six days that allowed us to spread the word about Opera among much people, I don't remember how many people visit the Opera Software stand but be sure were many persons , I helped to install Opera to more than 20 persons on their cellphones! and about 6 in their computers! and I gave near of 300 Opera Software stickers .

I have the opportunity to teach how to use Opera to many persons at time, I made use from several Opera Software materials such videos from Opera Software, presentations, images and guidelines, these materials helped me a lot and thanks its I was able to attend more persons, and now I have more translations to Latin American Spanish available: the Opera browser poster, Opera mini poster and the presentation "Mobile Browsing for Beginners" so rest sent its to Ms Anna for her approval .

Of course I will describe you this day: well it was a shorter day than the others because the event finished three hours (17:00 hrs) early than the other days, also this day I should clean and pick up all the Opera Software stuff, so it was a intense and tired day but very satisfactory , so I couldn't take photos of this day, but instead of this I attached the best photos (for me) that I got during the event so that be like a gallery for summary all the event.

Also I want to emphasize the fact that the Expositeca organizers gave a recognition to teacher Mario, to me and the most important them gave me an recognition for Opera which reads : The exhibition Science and Technology of Aguascalientes and the Industry Information Technology Development Center grant the present Recognition to Opera for its participation as exhibitor within the framework of the IT congress titled Mobile devices and multimedia celebrated from 23 to 24 April 2011

I think that would be a great idea that Opera send a recognition to the organizer for invited and supported us though these six days. , this would help for be invited again the next year . Meanwhile I should investigate how send this recognition to Opera

Well finally I want thank to all people that supported us: thanks to the Expositeca organizators, thanks to Digital FrAGS staff, thanks to TequilaValley Aguscalientes but specially thanks to all people interested and that visited the Opera Software stand

This is all for now, were six amazing days of promotion, and I can conclude that was successful mission. Thank you so much for your attention and hope you enjoyed reading these posts as I enjoyed writing

Greetings everyone!

This is my report about my participation in Expociteca during the third day. As I previously mentioned this event was organized for promote the technology among Aguascalientes society withing the San Marcos Fair celebration

This day was quiet and I didn't get much people. So I took a round for take a look to the other stands of the companies and organizations that attended to the event. ( and play in the land party ).

Maybe you're asking why I don't have more photos of me participating in this event, well I had two problems, first I lost my camera and second since we're on vacations anyone of my fellows could attend to the event, only teacher Ricardo help me during the first day and teacher Mario will give a conference about mobile applications :widgets the fourth day

Despite this situation I'm very happy representing not just the Campus Crew, if no to Opera Software besides great companies like Microsoft, Softteck, ECS and more.

So I borrowed a camera and I take some photos of the other stands for you can appreciate how is the event.

Finally this day I gave more stickers to people that visited the Opera's stand and help some persons to isntall opera in their phones and their laptops

Well that is all for this day, thank you for your reading and I'll go to sleep tomorrow will be another great day thanks to Opera

I'm very happy to update you about the participation of my participation during Expociteca, that I previously mentioned is a event for promote the technology here in Aguascalientes

This post is for describe you the event and I'll post ever day during the event, the organizers of the event are very interested in Opera Software and they invited us to be present in this event with the Opera Software stand . This will help to spread the word about Opera and since the Event's topic is Mobile Computing, Opera really have a special place here thus the Invited me to give a conference about Opera and Mobile Web . I'll give the conference on Monday 25 April, from 18:00 to 19:30 hrs (GMT-6 Mexico central time)

And well I should tell you about the stand that I arranged for Opera Software, I printed some posters and Opera brand logos like Opera mobile, Opera mini, Opera widgets, Opera Browser,Opera Devices SDK and of course Opera Campus Crew. But is important mention that this isn't a stand only for Campus Crew, this is a stand for Opera Software and it is beside to another great technology exponents like Oracle, ECS, Microsoft, Softteck, Hildebrando, TequillaValley, DigitalFrags and many more . Also I made some stickers for give to the people that visit the stand , our new Campus crew member Monica lend me her smartphone HTC for giving a demonstration of opera mobile to the persons that visit the stand, I get a LCD screen for play Opera's videos and another computer for people be able to test Opera browser .

This was a great day I help to some persons to install Opera mini and mobile in their phones , and in general the people was impressed by the power of Opera and I can't take a more photos of this day because I forgot charge my camera , but I'll have more days for take more photos.

I'm happy to finally share my experience with you during the FLISoL 2011 that is a special event for celebrate and promote the use of free software across Latin America . Usually this event takes place the fourth week of April, but this occasion it was held the first week.

The event was held specifically on Saturday 9 April, from 8:30 to 19:00 (UTC/GMT-6), yea was a long event, and some workshops and conferences were held during this lapse, and among these activities I gave two lectures the first was about web standards and the second was about Free Operative Systems .

p>So I'll briefly describe the content of my presentation, I started explain what is a standard, then web standards, advantages, examples, and about Opera and the Open Web. So, in general this was the content of my presentation:

At the lecture attended around 40 persons and some got interested in the Opera Campus Crew project, so I'll organize a meeting for those that want join us and belong to this great project!. And I'm searching a space at weekend to hold the meeting.

After the lecture (it was 1 hour ) the TequilaValley team gave a lecture about their organization: what it consist, what is involved, how to participate and how they can help people to undertake their own projects, and them gave me a space for promote the Opera Campus Crew project and explain to participants how they can be part of this initiative . So we're officially collaborating with TequillaValley and this alliance will help us to organize more events, to participate in events like this one and the most important to help spread Opera and help the development of technology in Mexico.

At the end of the event we were invited to join to the podcast of "Pinguinos en el alambre", that is the Aguascalientes group of the Free Software movement. Here I had the opportunity to talk about Opera, Campus Crew and the web standards movement that Opera Supports, I mean the Open Web project

I should clarify that this was a Free Software event, Opera isn't Free Software, but it provides support for several free OS and the most important Opera promotes the Open Web that allow everyone to access and enjoy the web despite any platform, OS, device and impairments. This ideal is in touch to the Free Software ideals.

Also I was invited to participate in the biggest celebration of Aguascalientes: the San Marcos Fair , it consist in a three week period where are expected visitants around the country and even the world, so this is a celebration with a high flow of people (I'm talking about thousands of persons!) And the Opera Campus Crew Aguascalientes maybe will gave some lectures and a workshop

Finally I want thank to TequillaValley for invite me to join the event, thanks to the Aguascalientes Free Software community "Pinguinos en el alambre" and to everyone that went to the event and support it.

So, I'm proud to say that this time the mission was complete successfully and I put on high the name of Opera.
