Campus Crew - Aguascalientes, Mexico

Hi everyone!

I have very good news! because I got a place for Opera Software into the "Feria Naciaonal de San Marcos 2011" , that is the biggest celebration here in Aguascalientes , it is a tradition celebrated since 1828 .

The "San Marcos Fair" will take place from April 23 to May 15 with over 7 million visitants expected for this year (both national and international tourists . During this period there will different activities: cultural activities, sport activities, social activities and in general is a time for celebrating and relaxing . The San Marcos Fair is a important celebration because it is more than a local celebration, it has national relevance and recently it become an international event, because each time more foreign people visit this event, and has even been invited to other countries as ambassadors to participate in the Fair for example Spain, Cuba, Canada, France and USA

The technology can't be missing of this event, thus had organized a special event called Expociteca whose goal is to gather the most important technology exponents , so Opera Software will be present . We'll be beside really good exponents such Oracle, ESC.Microsoft, Softteck, Hildebrando, etc. Also is important mention that TequillaValley and DigitalFrags will support us during the event. Opera will have a stand were we'll expose the Opera Software technologies such Opera mobile, Opera mini, Opera browser, Opera widgets, Opera devices and of course Opera Campus Crew. We hope spread the word about Opera to many people

Also I'll give a conference about Mobile Web with Opera on Monday 25 April , that will be another great opportunity to spread Opera

In Spanish stands for “Aguascalientes Science and Technology Expo” and it is an event in favor of the digital culture that unites both national and international Information Technology companies and local universities with IT bachelor degrees

Besides that, EXPOCITECA will also have a digital entertainment zone called “MEGALAN” where the attendees will be able to interconnect their PC’s thru a Local Area Network and play in both friendly matches and tournaments

We the members of the Campus Crew Aguascalientes Branch from the ITA are very excited about the Spanish IRC chat with the Chief Standards Officer Charles McCathieNevile.

So, we put hands to work and promoted this important event through all our school, we went personally to almost each classroom to promote the chat and invite our fellows to join us during the chat, this is because we should bear in mind that this activities are only for those that are Campus Crew members, and if somebody want get involve he/she can do if contact to any Official Campus Crew member ( and with IRC account ) or send question to us for ask to the Opera's experts. This is our method to get more people participate and know more about Opera and the Web.

I personally modified the Events template ( hope this not be bad ), and made a promotional poster for the event, also I asked to Ms Anna for some feedback forms because I think this will be a good opportunity to get information about this kind of activities.

So we can't wait more for speak again with Mr. McCathieNevile, he is a great person
