Olgita`s modest notes!

Weekend

, ,

It was day off in Russia yesterday, the weather was cloudy but pretty good so we decided to go on picnic with friends! We found a nice place in the city with ponds. We spent a really good time there but we had to wait our meat for barbecue as one of my friend put it to the fridge and we waited it to melt!:D And everybody were hungry of course!

After our lunch we played different games and the main game for that day was Monopoly... That was the first time I played the game till the end:) Almost! As I felt tired I had to sell my bussiness and fund all money to the charity! This is really exciting game, especially if you have 4-6 players. You really can have fun and grow heated!:up:

I have never seen a Russian Monopoly game before ... though you call it "Millionaire"! I suspect the game is a recent introduction to the former Workers' Paradise? It is SO un-Marxist!

Well, on second thought, maybe it's not. LOL

PostmanPechkin 13. June 2009, 15:23

:sst:

Olgita 13. June 2009, 15:26

derWandersmann, you are right! But I have no idea why they renamed it in Russia... Some years ago it called Monopoly...

PostmanPechkin 13. June 2009, 15:31

:sherlock:

Olgita 13. June 2009, 15:38

Olgita 13. June 2009, 16:05

derWandersmann 13. June 2009, 16:21

Ummm ... No kidding?

LOL

ste-ven 13. June 2009, 16:23

derWandersmann , what's your problem with the marxism
it is dead, show some respect then...Though this stupid crisis
is a totally capitalist one
We can see now--> capitalism sucks !!

derWandersmann 13. June 2009, 17:50

I really have no problem with Marxism ... I think that both socialism and capitalism have their good points and bad points ... each needs to be tempered by the other.

But I do not see any point in hijacking Olga's thread, and will indulge in no further political discussion.

The pond looks so serene. And looks you and the gang had a great time

Olgita 14. June 2009, 07:42

YOu know June is the time of "snow" in Russia! You can see it on the pond and in the air! This is a kind of tree - silver poplar (cottonwood)... its white fluff flies everywhere in June!!!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poplar

derWandersmann 14. June 2009, 14:13

Yes ... it is a common tree in many places in the USA, too, from the hardwood forests of the northeast to the desert southwest. I never thought about it before, but it must be a very adaptable tree, though I do not doubt that there are genetic differences in the trees from the extremes.

Here, in the Northern Midwest, lawns and driveways ... any place that has some sort of wind baffle ... gets choked up with the fuzz, and window screens become opaque.

NLDH 14. June 2009, 15:09

The Monopoly seems very interesting huh. I heard about it but I never try  Enjoy your weekend!

Olgita 14. June 2009, 16:18

Thank you!! Have a good weekend too!

Monopoly is fun if you have a good company of friends!

daineko 18. June 2009, 14:16

sarcoptes 21. June 2009, 16:00

Hahaha, many interesting comments here... :ninja:
Anyway, to barbeque the food while still being in plastic cans looks like a local Russian recipe. Here in Norway we remove the meat before we barbeque it...
Anyway, strange why nobody mention the wonderful Лебедь-шипун, Кряква and the nice Белощёкая казарка bug

Olgita 21. June 2009, 16:07

   Im glad you mentioned them, Roy! That day they had enough bread for dinner!

"Here in Norway we remove the meat before we barbeque it" - REALLY!? Try them in plastic cans on day...:lol:

sarcoptes 21. June 2009, 16:12

Olgita 21. June 2009, 17:18

ste-ven 22. June 2009, 01:48
