Olgita`s modest notes!

Classical music in the hospital

One more story from hospital! The previous one was about the strange shelf and this one is... about magic button that can save your life sometimes and music!

You all know what for they use it - for calling a nurse. Imagine... it is about 11.00 a.m... time to have dropping bottles for most of patients there and...when your bottle is over of course you call for the nurse pressing this button! Poor nurse is running from one room to another... while special music is playing. You even can`t imagine which music plays for calling the nurse... BEETHOVEN "FUR ELISE". That is one of my favorite that I like to play on the piano so much!!!! When I hear this melody now I have only one thought - HOSPITAL!!!

And something more... the most interesting! Do you know how many times I pressed that thing accidentally with my hands AT NIGHTS!?  Nights with classical music... What can be better!

Now enjoy this wonderful piece of art!

PainterWoman 7. September 2009, 14:44

Do you ever have a patient who presses that button every 15 minutes? My ex husband was like that. He is kind of a cranky person and gets irritated easily with things and didn't like the music, the tv station, the door open, the food, etc. Finally, the hospital gave him a nurse just like him.

María isabel 7. September 2009, 15:38

ohhhh in the hospital there are some people like your ex husband....it`s terrific....we like that people never are sicks

der Wandersmann 7. September 2009, 15:50

They capture the true spirit of the nurse's efforts to change all the drips.

[Nat] 7. September 2009, 17:05

I also like “For Elise” very much!

Olga 7. September 2009, 17:27

Olga 7. September 2009, 17:28

Olga 7. September 2009, 17:33

PainterWoman, that was really mean of him!!! Cranky people are very annoying... not only in the hospitals! You should be really very patient to handle them!

Lohmataya, that`s great that "new generation" still knows classical music and loves it!

Karen 7. September 2009, 19:49

I love that song, too!

Olga 7. September 2009, 20:36

Karen!   You should try to play it on the guitar!

L.D 8. September 2009, 02:44

Olgita: "Do you know how many times I pressed that thing accidentally with my hands AT NIGHTS!?"

Please, I want to know

I don't know you play piano - how lovely  How are you doing? Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Take good care of yourself.

All the best from Julie

I pressed only once, but others... Every night it was calling!

8. September 2009, 13:19

Lorenzo Celsi 8. September 2009, 14:22

Bur why are you at the hospital?

SngSoo Ann aka Des 8. September 2009, 14:32

sounds cool to have classical music in the hospital:)

Olga 8. September 2009, 16:43

Olga 8. September 2009, 16:46

Lorenzo, nothing serious, just needed additional nutrition for my placenta that got old too early! Everything is good with baby, now he gets everything he needs and even too much as he grew up too fast!

Des An, really cool! Especially at nights!:lol:

starree 8. September 2009, 23:54

I love fur elise! Too bad they didn't just let it continue to play for you !

L.D 9. September 2009, 02:28

:yikes:

Can't wait to see your video

Olga 9. September 2009, 13:11

Julie, maybe one day...

Starree, do you mean in the hospital? Yes, only a short part of it you can hear... The beginning of it.

OMG... I have just remembered that IN TURKISH SCHOOLS they have this melody as a lesson ring!!!

der Wandersmann 9. September 2009, 15:09

Lesson ring?

Olga 9. September 2009, 15:14

don`t you have a special bell that calls for children to the lesson when it starts!?

der Wandersmann 9. September 2009, 15:17

Ah ... OK. We don't call it that, here.

Olga 9. September 2009, 15:19

Sorry for my English! Could you tell me how do you call it, please!?

der Wandersmann 9. September 2009, 15:48

Actually, I don't think there is an "official" name. I think we just call them "bells", "class bells", "school bells" ... So it's not your English that's at fault, it's OURS!

LOL

Olga 9. September 2009, 16:08

It`s really nice when a native speaker cannot find the right word! It happened to us as well! When my husband asks me "what is that in Russian" I cannot answer cause I am not sure!

starree 9. September 2009, 19:52

yep olgita that is what I meant! oh I would love to hear that as school or lesson bells!

Olga 10. September 2009, 05:35

Just... I am not sure that schoolchildren know that it is Beethoven...

der Wandersmann 10. September 2009, 14:45

Don't tell 'em! Then they won't decide to hate it until it's too late.

starree 10. September 2009, 17:08

hate beethoven? that is crazy talk!

Olga 10. September 2009, 18:04

We are talking about new generation!

[Nat] 10. September 2009, 18:27

It doesn’t depend on age. When you have to listen to smth EVERY day you start to hate it. :-(

Olga 10. September 2009, 19:00

Anyway I still love Fur Elise!

[Nat] 10. September 2009, 19:27

:-)
I’m about this:

I have just remembered that IN TURKISH SCHOOLS they have this melody as a lesson ring!!!

Poor kids…
However, Russian school rings are totally awful.

Olga 11. September 2009, 20:08

they are just classic bells... Am I right? Or something new at schools now?

11. September 2009, 20:31

11. September 2009, 20:49

наверное:lol:
