Multitouch interfaces for web sites

Apple iPhone games, Google Earth, Microsoft Touch, some concept interfaces by IBM... multi touch applications are on the rise.

The WebKit browsers (Safari, Chrome) sport a multi touch javascript API. I'm thinking of building support for multi touch into the Altar Dress-up application over on Pantheon Online Games.

A decent example seems Robinson's Light Table.

Try it using Google Chrome! Says the author: "In desktop browsers it uses the previous clicked location as a second 'touch', so you can click a photo then click and drag another spot on the photo to resize and rotate (notice the yellow dot)."

RSS 2.0: ridiculously simple syndication

, ,

Until you want special stuff, like podcasting and fill in iTunes item properties, or hope to have Opera 9.6 show the feed item source in a predictable, consistent way, adding RSS 2.0 to your web site is so bloody easy no web site should do without a news feed.

It's so easy you could hire someone to type it by hand. I like.

For that reason we've added news feeds to the OmegaJunior.Net, as well as a podcast feed to the music section specifically.

Failure Notes: new Hall of Shame for web sites and software applications

Over on the OmegaJunior.Net, we've created a new section called Failure Notes, that zooms in on web sites and software applications that fail to work as advertised or expected.

Articles are available in English and Dutch alike. Set your browser's language preference.

Currently there's 1 failure note, about the Dutch web site of De Telefoongids (the Phone Guide).

Suggestions are welcome.
