Skyfire browser for blackberry delayed

First of all, I have been waiting like "forever" for skyfire to code a version of their cool browser for the blackberry. With flash support (which I hope that the mini opera will do), it sound like a deal. I guess there was a leak and now skyfire is temporarily putting this project on hold for a couple weeks... For what!? Because the public wants it? Just finish making it and put it out for testing.

I am a mobile browser freak. My "first love" is opera mini.. Thus the name OPERAFREAKR (in case you didn't know  ). Never the less I was sad to hear about this. I posted the news on stinney.com if you want to check it out.

Back from Vaca with an updated Ipod Touch

Over the vacation my firmware on my Ipod touch was 2.2.1 and as I mentioned before with the JB. I was reading about the 3.0 update and the new features that it comes with so I was debating to update or not. Well... I did. I bought the new update (which is not that bad for the price from Apple) and went to work on JB'ing the device again. Boy what a pain in the arse that was!! One thing to remember (from experience) is:

1. Use the .IPSW file that was supplied with your update.

I was trying to get this thing to work for hours! I had redsnow 0.7.2 which ALOT of people were having issues with but FINALLY it worked! Another thing that I noticed is the JB only liked Cydia. Although ICY was listed, everytime I chose to install both on the break, it failed. As soon as I just chose Cydia and it was fine. I did however install ICY after the running pineapple did it's thing. All in all... sweet. I was afraid that I also would lose my online game stats for imafia and the likes because *clears throat*, I am da man... but to my surprise, all my games came back just the way I left them. Another bonus.

With that, I have the cool new 3.0 firmware on my touch AND my data back! Of course I had to re-sign for apps like facebook and etc. but you know what.... I didn't mind. I love this Ipod touch. It "almost" has me wondering what would my life be like with an Iphone but.... I am not THAT curious yet . I will try out the new 3rd party option to connect to Microsoft Exchange and try out the VPN feature as experiments. I still believe that RIM has the most SOLID and dependable handheld out there. My Bold kills the Iphone... well, except the browser.

Important Microsoft update next tuesday

Microsoft will finally be releasing the patch that fixes the security hole that allows a source to gain control of your computer. If I am not mistaken this is the very flaw that allows a user to be infected by just simply going to a website that was hacked to deliver the attack code.

Trapster App for mobile phones...

First of all my vacation is going well! I just cooked up some cube steak and I am drinking my Heineken at 9am!! sweet. On the way to my campsite I decided to try out Trapster, a cool mobile app that allows you to be alerted to speed traps of all kind including traffic cams. What I was surprised about was the "talking" it does when it detects a trap. It does track your location but the only thing that I wish it could do is track you with movement on the map that it shows. I had to keep scrolling to my location. It still however tells you either way if there is a trap but based on the area in miles that you select. All in All it is a cool app to fool around with. This application has been exposed in several places like Fox61, CNN, Time and W.I.R.E.D. If you want to check it out, head over to http://www.trapster.com/.

Cool *new* design to the page.

Have you noticed that I changed the page up? Of course you did. I decided to make it match stinney.com so when people ported from there to here it looks like they match. I like it.

I think I am going to extract some apps from the big cloud in the sky to my touch. I can't believe how much this thing grew on me. I am on vacation now so I get to jam away on my tech-toys.... drink brew.... and smoke a 'gar!

MDL Podcast is NO-MORE.

I am going back to the old fashion bloggin'. It is much easier shooting up a post to the blog instead of trying to find time to sit down and record a whole podcast... oh well, can't say that I did not try! In the meantime, let me tell you... I bought the iPod touch and whoooweee! Nice. I jail broke the device so my warranty is out the window but hey... we have to live right!? It keeps me more busy than my Nano (2nd Gen) did when I had that. I will sell it to this dude I know at work for a couple bucks to get some type of return. I really think that the touch should be less expensive than it actually is.
