Well looks like it’s definite... You cannot customize a SharePoint form that has Attachments set without losing the Attachment functionality. I just got finish creating an auto-numbering (ID) System to give the jobs IDs as they are entered. All was well and what I wanted to do was to "blank" out the ID field on the NEW and EDIT forms so that they could not be tampered with if tempted. To my surprise, one of my users said that he was getting a crazy error on his screen whenever he tried to attach something to the form. I checked it out and saw that the form when customized in my SharePoint Designer, didn't allow me to preserve the attachments field. I did some searching and it appears that either they do not have attachments or I have to allow the Object ID to remain "open".
