I was thinking. of NATO, the EU, and America's place in all of it.

Well, more like its not-place in the EU.

My main thought: Is the European Union the new form of colonization?

In this era, colonization is pretty much dead, and what better way to bring colonization into the 21st Century than by peacefully creating a super-state that's politically and economically competetive with the strongest nations in the world? after all it is "United we Stand" and in Europe that holds true, together they are stronger than they ever were apart.

Have any of you read about the SPP, Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, it seems like there is a dangerous line between "Partnership" and "Union", but i'm for it. However what will Europe do if the US does join an a similar Union with Canada and Mexico, they would lose the economic competetiveness they've worked so hard to gain. the US would have new found respect, and a even more powerful voice on the world stage.

Will we all eventually be united under a super-state called NATO?

That'd be a sight to see.

I should say something witty, and corny. Maybe even cliche. But I won't, I'll just leave you with this thought,

THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THE END.

Yet, if you think about it, so is everything else, including life.
