TOEFL writing section

I would really appreciate your opinion!!!
I'm preparing to pass TOEFL exam and now studying the writing section. I found some sample topics fro writing and tried my hand in writing the essays. I don't believe they are perfect, but I would like to hear your comments what might be changed or added.
here is my sample writing:
Some people believe that schools should primarily teach students how to best compete with others. Other people believe that schools should primarily teach students how to cooperate with others.
Which of these approaches do you favor? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Initially schools were invented in order to prepare a young man for life; to teach him skills which he might need when being a grown up and supply him with knowledge necessary to function alone in the world. Although some people think that children are sent to school to learn how to compete with others, other people believe that school should teach students how to cooperate with others.
I support none of these opinions because to my mind the mind the role of school is to form a well-developed person able to socialize and realize oneself in the modern world. In order to become a competent member of a society one need to know how to cooperate and compete. Cooperation skills are necessary for team work. We can suppose that when some children will leave the walls of their schools they might work in a company, in a large collective of people where cooperation skills, ability to listen and hear others’ opinions will be very necessary. Some of the students might wok more productively individually than in a team, they might show better result when they compete. Their competitive skills can make them good future leaders who could run a big company and manage a number of people.
Therefore, schools shouldn’t be one-sided in teaching methods. Teachers cannot predict what the student will do after finishing the school, but should prepare a new member of society teaching both cooperative and competitive skills.
Scoring the essay:

List of things I'd love to do

Here is my list of things that I would love to do, and I never did. Would you please also share yours?
1)to attend a good match of boxing, although I never was at boxing I would like to see an interesting and spectaculous match, such as Muhammad Ali showed.
2) to have a nice summer bike ride with my beloved and rest lying in the long grass in the field and the night spend in a barn, on a hayloft.
3) to swim naked in the sea or ocean, desiredly at night under the full moon.
4)I also wanted to go to M.Jackson's concert, but now this dream is unrealiseable.
5) I would like to have a good photo camera and take some pictures of different places or people and organize an exhibition with my works linked to different topics.
6) visit USA, especially San Francisco

A lot Like Love

Yesterday I saw the film - "A Lot like love", it is not a new film, it was released in 2005, but it is a love story anyway. And I just wanted to see something romantic :-) To my mind the story told in the film resembles our day by day life, that's why I liked it - it seemed real, something like that could happen in real life.
People do plan their lives, but sometimes their plans are broken by the powerful hand of destiny; and everything we did turns out to be in vain. The reason why this happens is because we put our prerogatives wrong and sometimes are blind and obstinate and do not follow the signs the life shows us. All we have to do is just live our lives, and not try to pretend to be somebody we are not and not to be afraid to fall in love. :-)
The main female character in the film said: "If you're not willing to sound stupid, you don't deserve to be in love!" I liked it a lot. there should not be fear in our lives! We should learn to listen firstly to ourselves, to our own desires!
But is it always easy to understand that this is the real love? It took them 6 years to realise that!

Plans for the summer

I am planning to go to the seaside. Last year I went with my sister to Romania, Constantsa, this summer I will go with a bigger company to the Crimea. Crimea is a wonderful place - there is sea and mountains there and a lot of sightseeings. There will be 8 people alltogether and this vacation promisses to be a funny one. We've been thinking where to go with our poor budget ))) and we talked with people who spent their vacation in Crimea last summer, they told it is worth going. So now everyone is packing their suitcases and is looking forward to the holiday!
When I come back, will post some pictures and tell you my impressions.
And what are you planning to do during summer?

Для многих людей во всем мире известие о внезапной смерти певца стало шоком. Так же как и я... Утром по дороге на работу, получила смс от сестры, она сообщила мне эту новость. Сразу в интернет - и да, так и есть.

believe that it is their responsibility to do so. We try to control,
coerce, humble, guilt, shame, and do whatever else we can think
of to get what we want from the marriage. We each become very
clear about what our partner needs to do to improve but seem
oblivious of the need to change ourselves.
