Summet or other

Feels like poop!

Hullo! I feel like poop! This is the first flu type illness I've had in an age though.

Anyway, just thought I'd write something ANYTHING! as I failed to write anything throughout October. Is that my first missed month? Very possibly!

Anyway we had a lovely holiday over half term in Devon. I've put some videos up on facebook but not photos yet.

I've gone quieter on facebook as well as here now. Maybe it's because my dad joined facebook but the settings have got confusing recently. I'm sure I only see a selection of my friends feeds and those I do see I'm increasingly bored and irritated by and I think well, if I feel that way maybe they do too so who would be interested in my photos other than my immediate family who are now all on facebook.

I was looking at Google + which enables you to post some things only to family, some things only to friends etc. I think that's what I'd now like. But you'd have to persuade everyone to get on to Google + first. Facebook is very good for people like me who moved around during their childhood to find out school friends (bizarrely more effective at this than friends reunited which was particularly invented to facilitate this.) but other than that I mainly use facebook as a feed for things I'm interested in and these fill up my feed rather than the bizarre moans or enthusiasms of people I know a bit.

So, this blog post turned into a rant about facebook - how strange! May talk about other things at some point - but till then - Tatty-bye!

To Mocha or not to MochaSome things don't need to be shared!

Well you kind of summed up nicely why I never bothered with any "Web 2.0" crap after MyOpera. It was a bit of a novelty back in 2004 but I'm kind of over it now. Plus I don't need the worries about privacy or the hassle of trying to keep up with it all.

In an ideal world, there would be some kind of universal blogging system which was very secure but which meant I didn't have to have separate accounts at MyOpera, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Google+, MSN Spaces Windows Live Messenger People Live Extra Spaces for Windows, Blogger, etc. etc. to keep in touch with certain contacts. It would be enough if I could just "follow"/"friend"/whatever people on the other sites from MyOpera. But of course that won't happen while they're trying to harvest user info and extract advertising revenue from it...
