Monster Storm in my county last night

It woke me up around 11:30 pm when I heard things crashing around outside my bedroom window. The wind was blowing like crazy. The thunder was so loud and the lightening so bright I thought sure I or my dogs would get hit. I hurridly made them go potty before it started raining cuz then they would never go out. As soon as I got them back inside, I stayed out on the patio to find out what had been blown about. I had a trellis nailed to a beam for some shade and that is what had been blown off. No biggie. I moved a few heavier things in front of other things that might get blown about. Then I just stood and watched how the wind was whipping my 50 yr old sumac tree around. I kept expecting a branch to break. Then the winds got even stronger and it started pouring down rain. Or rather the rain was going sideways. I finally was scared enough to go in the house.
This morning, it is a gorgeous 72 degrees, with blue skies.....as if nothing had happened. I perused my yard front and back and found nothing except for a few small branches off my Arizona Ash in the front and several shingles in the back from a neighbor's house and, of course, my trellis. My neighborhood seems ok too. No one lost a tree. The pool I cleaned this morning was terrible with all kinds of debris and I spent about 2 hrs. cleaning it out.
I think about this storm and how strong the winds were and how scared I was. Yet, I realize it was nothing compared to a hurricane or a tornado. Very scary thought.
It is expected that another storm will build up by late afternoon today. We shall see.
