About me

I am English. I was born in 1953 in Poole, a seaside resort on the Dorset coast.I first met Buddhism in 1975 through meditation as taught by Sayagyi U Ba Khin and Goenka. I ordained as a Buddhist monk in 1979, trained in Burma and Thailand for some years, and now live in East London. I run meditation classes and retreats, give talks, and write articles on Buddhism.

My work

My mission in life is to promote the practice of insight meditation. I wish to see a revival of the essentials of Buddhism, and an end to superstitious practices. I use a computer to prepare Buddhist publications, mostly on the web, and for correspondence via forums and email
