"Something just ain't right about that Boy"

Sometimes in a persons life you get to meet a someone who truly impresses you and makes a mark on your life forever. It may be a family member, a neighbor or even a friend. Your life course changes because of them….maybe not always for the good. Many years ago…OK ..in my teens I met a man named Dave. Interesting guy to say the least. He moved his family from Michigan to my home town and I got to know him by cutting his grass….and messing around with his daughters. Dave had a degree in Physics and had worked for IBM for many years . After retiring he received his calling and became a Licensed Minister. Dave never gave up his love of practical jokes and he never did learn how to hit a golf ball straight…….but he was always an encourager. He and he alone do I give credit for pushing me to practice my music…my parents encouraged me to learn but Dave was my driver…my inspiration to do it. He was always there saying have you tried this or that? He didn’t understand the music of my generation .....most people his age did’t back then….but Dave knew it was in me and he helped it come out. I owe much to him and will always be indebted to him.

Dave died today…....

My life is a little sadder….but much richer because of you.
Rest in Peace my Friend….
