The City of Lights......

Paris at last!

We arrived late Sunday afternoon at the Gare de Lyon Train Station after a very comfortable trip from Lyon. Our driver beening caught in traffic, we decided to walk around and found the most wonderful little glass shop close by. Nic-knacks of all kinds filled the shelves and I couldn't’t resist buying a small crystal bongo drum, just what I needed.

We finally connected with our driver and were soon dropped off at the Hotel. Our rooms are...well...fit for ol' Louie himself! My Manager made all the arrangements and had out done herself this time.....( I take back everything bad I’ve ever said about you over the last three years ) I LOVE YOU Sharon!.. Our rooms, on the fourth floor, with 13ft ceilings, French Provincial furniture, the most unbelievably large bed and a balcony that gives us a beautiful view of the Seine and the Left Bank, and within a few miles of the museums of my interest. :D

As we got settled in and after a very nice meal brought up to the room, it was out on the town. Of course I had to go to the only place I really know in Paris, The New Morning Jazz Club, the raucous scene of my 40th birthday party.:insane:

Unlike Lyon, the weather here is beautiful, and the city at night is a wonderland of light and shadow
Unfortunately, we both are a little under the weather from the cool and rain of Lyon ( my pipes seem to be in Purgatory ) and have no voice, so this morning we’re going to stay-in and take care of some emails and business before we see the sites and the city by night.
We’ve decided to do the Louvre on Wednesday because of the extended hours that day. But tomorrow it’s the Musee d’Orsay.

The rest of the band will trickle in in the next few days, so we hope we can fit in a trip to Versailles before the things get crazy and our minds will be on the business at hand.
