"Something just ain't right about that Boy"

Phantom of the Opera: Somewhat Summarized....Kinda, Sorta.

While in Brussels, my manager Sharon.......or as I affectionately call her " 12 percent " , dragged me to a performance of "Phantom of the Opera". Now look at that face (see picture).....would you argue with her??? :insane:
After recently indulging in hard driving music, this was not necessarily my idea of fun. But I dressed up and off we went. And believe me, when I saw the dress she had on (see picture again) I said to myself "this is going to be worth it just to make fun of her dress for the rest of the night! Anybody missing your bedroom curtains?:lol: Needless to say I stayed in hot water all night, but with a smile on my face. But to tell you the truth, I really did enjoy the play. It was a bit soothing for this animal after all the hustle and bustle of the previous 2 weeks. The music was incredible and some notes very familiar to my ears, and we all know nothing beats a live performance.

The hardest part was sitting there knowing there is only one real Phantom! :D

Sharon found this summary of the play on-line and sent it to me today. The author is unknown and obviously a wiseass. I thought it was a hoot when I read it. It's not exactly as I remember, but close!

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

But yeah...did she get dressed with her eyes closed that day?

PainterWoman 31. August 2009, 01:43

 That summarization really was a hoot!

Have seen this and would see it again. Besides the actual play and singing, I also love looking at the set design and costumes.

I rather like her dress. The color is gorgeous and I don't mind the drapiness. Wish I could see it without the white wrap though.

Stardancer 31. August 2009, 01:58

Okkkkkkk.

She doesn't seem to like her dress, either.

:D

L2D2 31. August 2009, 03:00

P2, somehow, I do not believe the powers that be at the Metropolitan Opera in New York would quite approve of your summation, but what the hell----I loved it.

Pam is right---lose the wrap.

Minenow 31. August 2009, 15:15

 Another blonde in glasses.

"12 percent". P: That's hilarious! :D

Phantom2 31. August 2009, 18:12

Interesting comments Ladies!

@Karen...I think she had it on backward! I just couldn't bring myself to ask!

@Pam..Yes, the color was beautiful....the picture was taken in low light. It was a very vibrant royal purple. It was definitely an eye catcher.
The stage set was almost as incredible as the music.

@Star..She was talked into the dress...but the fact I had a camera was the real problem! Compared to some of the Opera patrons that night, she looked kinda conservative!

@Linda...kinda sounds like sumpthin the StoryLady would do, huh!

@Mina... Yes, my world seems to be ruled by blonds in glasses.

I'm praying for a Redhead!:D

It's easy to make a redhead. It's just a trip to the supermarket and buy hair dye. :D

I'd love to see the play too!

I like the carpet to match the drapes...know what I'm sayin?

You don't even have to like Opera to enjoy P of the O. It's a delight for eyes and ears.

L2D2 31. August 2009, 21:27

Yeah, but Star, can she still dance?

I'm glad to hear that. I was always afraid there would be a danger of the
"Feng Shui " thing at work if there wasn't a match.:lol:

Well, life is a series of adjustment, and the direction this is going I'd say natural is subjective.

L2D2 1. September 2009, 06:35

Well, I am sure my hair is natural.

Phantom2 1. September 2009, 06:37

Linda, it wouldn't matter if ya were bald, I'd still Love Ya!

L2D2 1. September 2009, 06:59

Thank you Sweetie, I love you too. I would have been proud to have you for a son.

Marike79 1. September 2009, 18:59

I would have said yes too. :insane:

I've seen Phantom of the Opera on DVD but would really like to see a live show.

Stardancer 1. September 2009, 21:04

I'm not sure my gramma could ever dance, P2. At least, I never saw her do so.

She sure had a lot of kids, though. So I bet she could.

 If trying to put out a lit cigarette on my forehead after I took her picture mean she was not happy with me, then yes, very unhappy.

rose-marie 9. September 2009, 19:06

At least you had easy acces to fire smothering drapes if you had caught fire!

Suntana 21. September 2009, 00:16

Okay, yes ... it IS quite the unique, funky, out there ... wayyy Out There dress, Err, drapes. It's so out there, wasn't something like that on Star Wars?

I was trying to figure out of whom she reminds me. I think I got it. Pending further analysis, for now, she looks like a combo of Lea Thompson and Katie Holmes Cruise with Blonde hair.

Phantom2 21. September 2009, 04:13

@ Rose...there are times when I'm around her I feel like setting my self on fire to get away!...:eyes:....No Sharon, I didn't really mean it. :left::right:

@ Sunny...without glasses she favors Renee Zellweger.

Suntana 21. September 2009, 04:44

Oh Crap! You mean Sharon reads your Blog? :yikes:
Did I say Lea Thompson and Katie Holmes?
Maybe I meant Heather Graham and Charlize Theron.

Phantom2 21. September 2009, 04:51

She has to protect her investment. She has eyes and ears everywhere.
:eyes:......what was that? :left: :right:

Suntana 21. September 2009, 05:02

In that case I have to behave.
Oh MY! Would you look at that lovely, silky, smooth Blonde hair?! Mona Lisa, eat your heart out. Mona Sharon is taking over. There! I cleaned up all traces of getting out of hand. :jester:

Phantom2 21. September 2009, 05:29

When she's happy....everyones happy!
