Something is just not right about that Boy

Phantom of the Opera: Somewhat Summarized....Kinda, Sorta.

While in Brussels, my manager Sharon.......or as I affectionately call her " 12 percent " , dragged me to a performance of "Phantom of the Opera". rolleyes Now look at that face (see picture).....would you argue with her??? scared
After recently indulging in hard driving music, this was not necessarily my idea of fun. But I dressed up and off we went. And believe me, when I saw the dress she had on (see picture again) I said to myself "this is going to be worth it just to make fun of her dress for the rest of the night! lol Anybody missing your bedroom curtains? lollol Needless to say I stayed in hot water all night, but with a smile on my face. But to tell you the truth, I really did enjoy the play. It was a bit soothing for this animal after all the hustle and bustle of the previous 2 weeks. The music was incredible and some notes very familiar to my ears, and we all know nothing beats a live performance. up

The hardest part was sitting there knowing there is only one real Phantom! bigsmile

Sharon found this summary of the play on-line and sent it to me today. The author is unknown and obviously a wiseass. I thought it was a hoot when I read it. It's not exactly as I remember, but close! lol

Home Sweet Home.......Dude, I just saw a goat in Wal-Mart:

I'm glad you enjoyed it. smile

But yeah...did she get dressed with her eyes closed that day? lol

PainterWoman Monday, August 31, 2009 1:43:16 AM

lol That summarization really was a hoot!

Have seen this and would see it again. Besides the actual play and singing, I also love looking at the set design and costumes.

I rather like her dress. The color is gorgeous and I don't mind the drapiness. Wish I could see it without the white wrap though.

Stardancer Monday, August 31, 2009 1:58:33 AM

Okkkkkkk.

lol

She doesn't seem to like her dress, either.

bigsmile

L2D2 Monday, August 31, 2009 3:00:21 AM

P2, somehow, I do not believe the powers that be at the Metropolitan Opera in New York would quite approve of your summation, but what the hell----I loved it. lol lol

Pam is right---lose the wrap.

MinaMinenow Monday, August 31, 2009 3:15:03 PM

lol Another blonde in glasses.

"12 percent". p That's hilarious! bigsmile

Phantom2 Monday, August 31, 2009 6:12:07 PM

lol
Interesting comments Ladies!

@Karen...I think she had it on backward! I just couldn't bring myself to ask!lol

@Pam..Yes, the color was beautiful....the picture was taken in low light. It was a very vibrant royal purple. It was definitely an eye catcher.
The stage set was almost as incredible as the music.

@Star..She was talked into the dress...but the fact I had a camera was the real problem! lol Compared to some of the Opera patrons that night, she looked kinda conservative! lol

@Linda...kinda sounds like sumpthin the StoryLady would do, huh! lol

@Mina...lol Yes, my world seems to be ruled by blonds in glasses.

I'm praying for a Redhead!bigsmile

It's easy to make a redhead. It's just a trip to the supermarket and buy hair dye. bigsmile

I'd love to see the play too! yes

I like the carpet to match the drapes...know what I'm sayin? lol

You don't even have to like Opera to enjoy P of the O. It's a delight for eyes and ears.

I'm glad to hear that. I was always afraid there would be a danger of the
"Feng Shui " thing at work if there wasn't a match. lollol

Well, life is a series of adjustment, and the direction this is going I'd say natural is subjective. lol

L2D2 Tuesday, September 1, 2009 6:35:05 AM

Well, I am sure my hair is natural.

Phantom2 Tuesday, September 1, 2009 6:37:16 AM

Linda, it wouldn't matter if ya were bald, I'd still Love Ya! yes

L2D2 Tuesday, September 1, 2009 6:59:25 AM

Thank you Sweetie, I love you too. I would have been proud to have you for a son.

MarikeMarike79 Tuesday, September 1, 2009 6:59:52 PM

I would have said yes too. scared

I've seen Phantom of the Opera on DVD but would really like to see a live show.

Stardancer Tuesday, September 1, 2009 9:04:27 PM

I'm not sure my gramma could ever dance, P2. At least, I never saw her do so.

She sure had a lot of kids, though. So I bet she could.

lol

lol If trying to put out a lit cigarette on my forehead after I took her picture mean she was not happy with me, then yes, very unhappy. lol

r♡serose-marie Wednesday, September 9, 2009 7:06:09 PM

lol

At least you had easy acces to fire smothering drapes if you had caught fire!

Suntana Monday, September 21, 2009 12:16:40 AM

Okay, yes ... it IS quite the unique, funky, out there ... wayyy Out There dress, Err, drapes. lol It's so out there, wasn't something like that on Star Wars?

I was trying to figure out of whom she reminds me. I think I got it. Pending further analysis, for now, she looks like a combo of Lea Thompson and Katie Holmes Cruise with Blonde hair.

Phantom2 Monday, September 21, 2009 4:13:35 AM

@ Rose...there are times when I'm around her I feel like setting my self on fire to get away! lol...bigeyes....No Sharon, I didn't really mean it. leftright

@ Sunny...without glasses she favors Renee Zellweger.

Suntana Monday, September 21, 2009 4:44:54 AM

Oh Crap! You mean Sharon reads your Blog? yikes
Did I say Lea Thompson and Katie Holmes?
Maybe I meant Heather Graham and Charlize Theron. whistle lol

Phantom2 Monday, September 21, 2009 4:51:59 AM

She has to protect her investment. She has eyes and ears everywhere.
bigeyes......what was that? left right

lol lol

Suntana Monday, September 21, 2009 5:02:06 AM

In that case I have to behave.
Oh MY! Would you look at that lovely, silky, smooth Blonde hair?! Mona Lisa, eat your heart out. Mona Sharon is taking over. There! I cleaned up all traces of getting out of hand. jester

Anonymous writes: Need help to answer a question. Local show had a contest to name the person who was originally asked to write lyrics for the phantom of the opera. I answered that there was really two answers to the question number one was John Steinman who declined because he had to finish a Bonnie Tyler album. Second person approached was Alan Jay Lerner who died after beginning project, yes both were asked by Andrew Lloyd Webber to write the lyrics. I was asked then which one and answered that my answer was the first person asked who was John Steinman ,I was told no abruptly and told you should have said the other person Lerner. My wife is a musician and says I am correct. Not sure the person who asked the question even knew who Steinman was ,needless to say that Steinman was the 1st person asked to write the lyrics who didn't write them.
