persistence, make money, start a business
That's what people always say when we reach the age limit. In one extent, it's just a way to make us feel comfortable. In the other, we always regard the age of forty as a time for a man to get established in his endeavor. Today is my birthday and I'm already over that limit.Read more...

dark-side
An old wise man says,
there'll always be a dark side of us,
and the shadow grows darker,
as we come close to a light.
when the light shines on the right,
the shadow will appear on the left,
as the light moves to the left,
shadow then shifts to the right.
and the old wise man continues,
when the light is right on our head,
the shadow will be just under our feet,
not lost, just can't be seen.

take action, decision
In one seminar I attended, the speaker secretly took a one hundred thousand Rupiah denomination out of his pocket. Waving the money in front of the audience, he said that he wanted to donate it. There was silence for a moment. No one moved or uttered a word, each of us was busy thinking and presuming what was the trick behind the offer. Suddenly, a man from the back row running up to the stage and took the money. Soon we realized that the speaker successfully presented his next topic --his speech no longer needed, not even his slide show.Read more...

self discipline, persistence
Native American Indian tribes, especially who live in Southwest region, perform dancing ceremony to ask their spirits or gods to send the rain. Among those Indian tribes, there is one that always succeed in sending the rain each time they do the rain-dance ritual. Other tribes are so eager to know the secret, so they pay a visit and ask for the formula. The answer, evidently, is also the best recipe for all of us to be successful. They say, "We just keep on dancing until the rain pours."Read more...

Lunar New Year is not only celebrated in China, but also in countries where Chinese populations and descendants live. Most of Asian countries, such as Mainland China, Hongkong, Taiwan, Macau, Indonesia, Singapore, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, and Vietnamese are celebrating the New Year --uniquely based on the complex lunisolar Chinese Calendar. Besides, the new year celebration also has its influence in countries where Chinese cultures interact with its geographic neighbors, such as Korean, Tibetan, Bhutanese, Mongolian, and even The Japanese before 1873. Last but not least, countries --such as USA, Canada, and Australia-- are also celebrating the new year although it's not their official holiday.Read more...

decision, action, creation
This world existed because action was made in the form of creation. Until now, the history of mankind -and of course, 'herstory of womankind'- is still written down by everyone of us. Our action for today will determine our destiny for tomorrow. No one, even God, will force us to do otherwise because we're so gifted with the freedom to choose. Indeed, It's not easy to make the first move -and it's always like that- and the quality of our action is not determined by cleverness alone but, more than that, by the wisdom of our choices.
All of my friends who knew me better said that I was gifted to write. I wanted to believe that but I couldn't. In fact, I only wrote a couple of poems that I didn't keep and I never accomplished my own short story. I might need a little encouragement to get up on my feet once more and move on. As one great speaker ever said "No matter how often we may fall down, if we can get up once more, we shall win."
So, this is my first move to write something as my personal notes. I hope it's not only me, but also someone somewhere somehow will also get benefit from it.
