windows mobile, pocket pc, opera mobile
I was playing around with the latest
opera mobile beta and found yes, it does play YouTube videos, but it does so slowly.
Here are a few tips to get better playback:
- Smaller videos are better
- "Talking head" videos play better than full action
- Close out all of your other programs before trying to play a vid.
- load the video completely before letting it play
- If you've got an option to increase processor speed, boost it to the highest setting
- - I haven't tried overclocking...it might help
- Oh, and don't forget to reinstall the flash player!
If you have a tip to get them to play better, please post:idea:

I really hate this..my site has been down for 11 hours and nobody knows what in the world is going on. They can't or won't report anything to me. At 12 noon my time, I asked them to reboot the server to reenable a feature. The server was running fine, I just needed a reboot. It is on the West coast, I am on the East.
I am simply guessing that when they went to reboot it, apparently some goof at the datacenter tripped over the electric cable and unplugged my server and can't figure out how to plug it back in.
Well, I am trying to be patient, but it's getting difficult.

I cannot believe I did not blog about this yet. Last weekend was pretty gorgeous in North Carolina. I spent almost all day Sunday outside...doing what? Actually it seemed like I was simply mowing the lawn. Yet what I was really doing was collecting leaves and grass for my compost bin. The thing about winter is I typically hate it. I do not like it because of the cold. I think I've mentioned in my Wallop blog before...were you listening? Anyway the one advantage of the wintertime is that with a little bit of work, you can make the perfect compost ingredient mixture.
The best yard compost mix should be 40%nitrogen and 60%carbon. In other words what this translates into is 60leaves and 40grass. If you were to simply mow up the grass and leaves at this time of year, you would have the perfect mixture!
But here's a twist. Here's a way to help with the composting process. Take your lawnmower and put the mulching attachment in it. Run the mower over the leaves with the mulching attachment and get them all chopped up on your lawn. Now you may figure that doing this your lawn will look like hell! Don't worry, when you go back over and mow capturing all the leaves into the bag attachment, your lawn will look great! Just don't forget to lower your mower height by a couple notches.
The end result is you will have some finely grated and shredded compost ingredients that should start steaming in the bin within a day or two!
Also... I'd also spent some time building a new compost bin out of chicken wire. The advantage with chicken wire, is that it's very easy to work with. When you want to turn your pile you simply pick up the compost bin leaving the compost behind. Just move it to a location next to the pile. Then you can simply shovel the compost into the bin in its new location! Easy turning = good! I have it sitting up next to my wooden compost bins that are already falling apart after only three years. We'll see how the chicken wire bin works. I will take a picture later if I can get back before dark and run out there and take a picture.
