You ever wonder why conservatives are so closed-minded and ignorant? One of the main reasons is that as you age your peer group generally becomes smaller and wealthier. There is a lot of truth to the idea that it’s not what you know but who you know. People are generally many times more likely to blindly trust someone of their own age group than someone with several years difference in age. As people become older they gain opportunities that they wouldn’t otherwise have because people in their age group become more powerful and more able to help out someone they can relate to. This doesn’t always mean job opportunities but more of an invisible privilege that comes from living in the same town most of your life and getting to know lots of people without gaining a notorious reputation. The more social interaction a person has in social organizations, the better likelihood they will benefit. Even if you write or call your elected officials, you will receive far more respect, merely because of your age, if you are older. If you can outlive your peers, maintain a positive, respectable image among your peers, eventually doors will open that were previously closed. This is why foreign knowledge isn’t crucially important to conservatives but localized education is. They are a lot like people who claim to be street-smart. They understand the value that decades of what is essentially networking can do to make their lives easier. They distrust outsiders and look upon foreign countries as strange, perverse, corrupt territories where the sins of man reign supreme over truth & justice and that’s all they want to know because it’s all they can conceive of.
Soldiers have vast skills that the military spends millions of dollars on to train them to survive any conceivable situation but a salesman may not even be able to change a car tire. Salesmen can earn millions for themselves and owners without ever wasting brain resources on much more than basic needs. It truly teaches laziness to nurture these skills and we do more than anyplace. All CEO’s, preachers, and politicians are salesmen, which is why they’re all in the same bed together. The knowledge of a salesman may be limited but it’s far more effective in western society. Networking is the most crucial skill of all.

love is the most beautiful thing in the universe
love will heal all pain
people value what's inside your heart
Love is more than mere sexual gratification
my capacity to love is colossal
devotion and loyalty are my offerings
unconditional love is essential
Love stories have passionateness
I yearned for the warm, soft touch and smell of a woman
Love Never Arrived
it takes time to find love
for years I searched and never found love
when I quit looking love will find me
time to focus on work and education
I use compassion to express love
Love Never Arrived
attractive people marry and divorce
otherwise intelligent people marry for lust, greed, and avoidance of loneliness
people try hard to pretend they are not shallow judge others for imperfections
I lost respect for people for blindly following their hearts
People say they love but their actions speak louder than words
I became apathetic to love
Love Never Arrived

R.E.M.
I've been listening to R.E.M. since I was fifteen years old. The first album I bought was Document and I knew immediately I had discovered a truly unique group of artists.
I grew up in Georgia and it was common for the college radio stations to play Alternative music only. Back then, their definition of Alternative music was anything that wasn't played on commercial radio. Commercial radio, in the 80's, was mostly full of one-hit-wonders from the new wave genre. Punk and metal never got airplay unless a band made an acoustic song that was "fit for airplay". The time for music was really bad commercially but decades later I learned to actually enjoy many of those songs played on commercial radio but at the time, I hated them.
Alternative college radio stations offered an education in music by playing bands that you would never, or were very unlikely to, hear. I fell in love with the philosophy of learning about new musicians and in turn learned to find music that suited me personally rather than what everyone else thought I should like. R.E.M. gave rise to the entire alternative movement. I doubt it would have ever existed without them.
The loss of R.E.M. is literally like the death of an old friend. Their melancholy melodies gave me comfort like no other band has ever come close to giving me. I tend to favorite the songs they write that few people talk about. It gives me the illusion that I understand them better than the average fan and that makes me feel special.
In all the years of listening to them, I only ever had one friend who appreciated them as much as I did. Craig Henderson, one of my oldest friends, borrowed my Document album because his brother liked them and we both became lifelong fans. His brother is also a Professor at UGA. Craig passed away two years ago April of liver failure. The main cause is unknown but he was one of the most talented artists I've ever known. The loss of R.E.M. felt like I was loosing my dear friend all over again and I immediately felt panic set in until i realized that a reunion is always possible. I've read that there is no way they will ever reunite but I've cared about these grounded individuals who make great music together so I want them to be happy even if I feel a strong comfort from them that will never be replaced. I love them enough to let them go if that's what makes them happy. I'll always be the friend you've never met.
Your Loyal Fan.

Human Rights should be our top priority, not corporate rights. There are no white rights, black rights, Latino rights, men’s rights, women’s rights, gay rights or any other rights. They are all human rights. Until we can all see this and work together, smaller minority groups will be exploited by individuals injecting their own personal agenda into the legislation. We are all directly effected by human rights whether we admit or understand that.
Education should be a right, not a privilege. No one should be allowed to interfere with your right to an education. Schoolyard bullies should be expelled or sent to reform school. No interference of any kind and this applies to everyone and everything.
Healthcare should be a right, not a privilege. It should be illegal for any doctor or hospital to refuse treatment just because you can not pay. Once that is the law, hospitals will finally consider ways to actually solve the problems and bring down healthcare costs. They don’t need to charge you $500 for a flimsy toothbrush to pad their profits. Anything less than socialized healthcare is a crime against human rights. This is why European countries have the best healthcare systems in the world, NOT the USA.
A safe, clean environment is a right that shall not be infringed upon under any circumstances.
“All Men are Created Equal” means all “people”. It does not mean that you are equal financially for the rest of your life. It means at the time of your birth, or creation, you are equal to every person when they are created. After that point, we are individuals who have to determine our own path. Not everyone is treated equally because wealthy people have more opportunities but it’s the best we can offer in a capitalistic society. Corporations are NOT people.
Freedom of Religion means: freedom “from” Religion. Any other interpretation conflicts with the amendment. You don’t have to tithe to be as close to God as any person. Religion is a personal issue and I know of no one who wants the Government telling them which religion to belong to or which God to worship. Don’t ask for creationism to be taught in school unless you want evolution taught in church.
Efficiency in Government is a must. Inefficiency should be criminalized. Corporations should NOT be allowed to make ANY kind of campaign contributions. They can’t vote and they aren’t held accountable for crimes while they literally write their own legislation and hand it over to politicians who sign it without questioning. This is a form of corruption. Politicians who make laws to help the companies they own should be jailed.
Free trade with countries that don’t have the same human rights standards as Western Society is nothing less than war on our human rights and it should be viewed no differently. Allowing corporations to pay for virtual slave labor to increase profit margins while they pay little or no taxes but can afford to spend millions on lobbyists should be criminal.
The U.S. Judicial System is antiquated and should be restructured. The Government doesn’t spend money on studies to find and change flaws in the system, it only spends money on how to put more people into the system. The U.S. Supreme Court is a joke and any of them who manipulate the law for personal reasons belong only in one place: prison. Privatization of prisons or any public services is corruption. We don’t want politicians or judges receiving any more kickbacks for putting people in prison and keeping them there.
The Gay & Lesbian community deserve every right that anyone else has. Marriage is not sanctimonious and never was or else divorce rates wouldn’t be over 50%. Which marriage has sanctity, the 9th?
You should have the right to choose euthanasia. If you are terminally ill, you have exhausted all treatment options, and you are suffering, you should have the right to choose to end your own suffering. This should not be an encouraged or pressured choice but only for those who wish to exercise this option. People who have clinical depression should never be considered as possible candidates.
Workers should have far more rights. You shouldn’t loose your job for being sick. We don’t want or need corporations who are unwilling to consider human rights in their equation for creating profits.
The Internet should be free. Censorship is the right of the consumer, not the Government.
Marijuana should not be illegal. It’s insane to spend so much money finding a few pot plants and putting people in prison for longer than people who commit murder over this issue.
Private corporations should not be allowed to plunder our resources for profit. Natural resources belong to the people and are not privately owned.
Corporations shouldn’t be allowed to bypass the law by avoiding taxes and appealing judgments against them for decades to get the settlements cut down to a fraction of the original jury judgments. This is criminal.

democrats, racism, politics
In no way do I support ANY type of racism or discrimination. I know that few people will fully read and comprehend what I'm writing but for the few who do, understand that racism cannot be denied when it's true any more than it should be accepted as truth when allegations are false.Read more...
