He jumps up, almost falling off the chair.
Who knew 12 pages could be that frightening
Half panicking from his race from his far away dreamland
Tripping, almost stumbling then shrugging himself to life
Silence has fermented the room for too long
Even its golden tint has begun fading into a rusty yellow.
Such confusion hits as if somewhat closer to insanity.
In such dead silence, the letters sway endlessly in a rhythm inaudible
Left right sway another right, turn twist roll around
Perfect symphony making absolutely no sense in his mind
Barely being fully complimented as his small pearl-like eyes
Try with might to delay the curtains rolling down.
The pen wriggling slowly in a stealth-like motion
Shaking itself free from its dwelling which frankly
Had begun getting too warm for its own comfort
Smelling freedom at last, it makes its getaway roll across the rough terrain
Over compass holes, fist-inflicted trenches searching
For the missing patches of paint.
With a scratchy cough slapping him silly
And the celery stench giving him an adrenaline shot,
Paralysis subdues him as those thoughts after scratch
Roll in with the rising tide
“Pens Down!”
