Something to think about

Simple times are the days gone by, Fun-filled moments, regretful , some ridiculous. All still fresh in my mind. Some say better days will come. I believe today is my best – I took time to remember the simple days I’ve had.

Funny how life works, we spend half the time wanting something more, that reason for existence, that larger than life moment. Wasted are those precious minutes dwelling on a dream world that may never be. It’s the small things: that hot day in Summer, that flu week in June, that crazy dance at the club, not forgetting that gorgeous by the traffic light. Stupid irrelevant moments are what this generation adore most and reminisce on.
The rest of the world better get used to it. The gap between moral s then and now is wider and our mind learn new things before we are even ready for them. It’s an unfortunate course of the human race to think that the fate of our future survival rests in your flamboyant son.

So far running through a seemingly endless string of luck, believe it or not somewhere along the line we do get things right. We do realize that beyond the fun side, there is a more serious one requiring responsibility, accountability and integrity. Bigger things have happened, teen shootouts at schools, religious factions going after one another, one man inflicting suffering on a whole nation.

When you catch me sitting on that chair staring blankly out my window, maybe looking at that bottle of alcohol that guy is drinking across sitting on the other table, I am wondering why I realized the truth and yet he hasn’t. Life is not cloaked in an invisible garment. Its shapes and forms are known to us, splendor, beauty and majesty all recognizable to our eye. Stop and think what you are doing in this life. The pitfalls you might have. See them, correct them; make something good come out from them. The good deeds you can offer, that soft heart you have, the short temper that comes and goes, make it flourish for the benefit of someone else.

Its funny how life works, we spend half the time wanting something more…that reason for existence, that larger than life moment… That something is time, it’s our reason for existence. Every second you get to live, think and breathe is that larger than life moment. Think it through, plan it; just don’t waste it. In the end, all that you will have are these snapshots engraved in your mind.
