Its a strange world we live in

Unusual is this old new world
Picturesque reality drenched in crudeness
readily extinguishing initial sparks of dreams
Nothing seem to come right anymore
And the right are all flocking to the wrong in scores
Ever running out of patience is time
With old age doing more than eluding our senses
Cheering on are our kids to brutal displays of violence
With the next world war being played out in your own living room
Rich men still despise an honest living
Blind sighted by the shiny, fake and appeal
Companies conquer governments overnight
and rising nations topple by morning
Blatant lies shroud truth at the slightest wisp of sound backing
Hand-me-down ceremonies now running out of style
Ring a bell for the two grooms at a wedding
And may we wish them a terrific honeymoon
Deadliest threat instated is your own doctor
Candy coated coccaine getting served as an appetizer
Our daughters selling hot on street corners
Poo has become a whole lot popular in conversations
Whilst my bag's too small for my books and a gun
In the chaos and confusion, consistency still remains
Money still buys more lives than groceries
Material still comprises majority of the individual
Joining the group leisure, soccer and chess is religion
And the plot thickens
With every betrayed friend, missing child,
setting sun some of us never get to see twice
Tremble in your shoes, shrug with relentless horror
The bone chilling part is its no longer strange to you

This is why greatworks like hose of shakespeare are still being read today...the trick to it all is that it's timeless....applies now and will even worsr in the future.
