Mess around with time? Why not!

Today was very interesting, since I wanted to get up early to watch the race in Melbourne, and I need to set up the alarm clock. The first problem was finding out when I need to get up, we are jumbling the time. but in Australia (the parts of it that do this monstrosity) they do it the first Sunday of April. The second problem was that I wasn't sure if I set up the alarm on my mobile phone then when will it actually activate, since it's smart enough to switch to DST.
So much trouble over a useless thing.

I absolutely agree. Although it's only an hour, it messes with my head every single year. It takes me about two full weeks to get completely used to the time change.
Here in the US, Arizona is the only state that I'm aware of that says, "Screw that!" to changing the clocks. They don't participate in the whole Daylight Savings Time thing. I like that attitude, and if it weren't so hot there, I'd even consider living there to avoid the time change!

Seems pretty pointless to me.
