Reflecting, Salvador Dalí, Art Print, 1937
...
28" x 22" - Art Print
About the Artist
Salvador Dalí (1904 – 1989) merges hallucination with reality in his iconic Critical-Paranoiac style in “Swans Reflecting Elephants,” a quintessential Surrealist painting in which mirror images of swans and elephants transform into one another. Dali, who redefined Surrealism, expressed the unconscious process of thought, dreams and perception of reality through idiosyncratic paintings as well as numerous other art forms. Creating a spectrum of imagery from fanciful to nightmarish, he scrutinized the writings of Freud and art magazines devoted to Cubism, Futurism, and metaphysical works.
An offset lithography printing press gives this fine art print its vivid and sharp appearance. The standardized printing plates and proofing process guarantee that each print displays colors precisely as the artist or publisher intended. Produced on medium weight cover stock, this high-quality reproduction is coated with a silken finish that protects the inks and creates an elegant look. The versatile art print strikes a balance between quality and affordability.

I try to tell the whole story in a single image - what I refer to as a "narrative panorama". We see Neverland in the distance, just below the "second star to the right", as the full moon bathes the scene with its silvery glow. The lights of London twinkle along the river Thames, as the clouds take shape, if only in our imagination, as characters from the adventure - Captain Hook, Smee, the Lost Boys and the ubiquitous ticking crocodile. But for me, the central character of the story will always remain Tinker Bell, the enchanted fairy princess who makes the entire journey of imagination possible. -Thomas Kinkade
