Frankenstein's Monster is a Creeper

Why do you think all the village people were so afraid of him?
Okay, so earlier this week Ms Brotherton made us go get Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. I have a kid in my english class named Nathan Shelley. He's kind of ugly. And annoying. Anyway, I didn't have very high hopes for this book. Sure, I love horror books. But I like horror books written in ENGLISH. Sofar in this Brit Lit (British Literature) class, nobody writes in real words or real grammar! "Be-eth" is NOT a word!
With these stubborn thoughts in mind, I started reading this book. I was so wrong about it. I went in with expectations of the story beginning with a weird mad scientist who makes a monster that growls and snorts and most likely scratches its brain through its nose. Again, I was wrong. You learn that Dr Victor Frankenstein is talking to a captain of a ship about his God-awful creation. He had an adopted younger sister, a few brothers, a really old father, and a mother who died of scarlet fever. I'm pretty sure he was incestly in love with the adopted sister, because he mentions wanting to kiss her on the lips. What a weirdo!
So at 17 he goes to college and Frankenstein is so obsessed with science. As time goes on, the Doctor becomes a nacropheliac. He doesn't have sex with the dead bodies, but he loves them almost as much as his sister. He gets the crazy idea to take parts from all the dead bodies and make them into one thing, and bring it to life. Yeah, this was a very bad idea. Because he spends 2 years working on it getting like, NO sleep and not talking to any of his family. All the hard work was for nothing though, because once he brings his monster to life, Doctor is like "o__________o". So he goes to bed. When he wakes up, the monster is standing right next to him watching him sleep. obviously he gets freaked out. I mean, who wouldn't? An 8 foot walking corpse that YOU brought to life is staring at you sleeping, what do you do? I think that's why the village people aren't crazy about him. They don't want to be watched while they're in bed at night.
I'm about half-way through with the book. What's happened is one of Frankenstein's brothers got murdered brutally, and he thinks his monster did it so he's like "Aww dammit!". On his way back, he runs into the monster and they have an epic fight. As epic as it can get with a big scary zombie and a scrawny little 22 year old. The monster starts telling a story to Frankenstein about why his life sucks (so we've basically got a story within a story within a story... remember that Doctor is telling this to a ship captain). Who knew that Frankenstein was so emo and so educated? Two years can change a lot, and apparently educate the undead. 'Cause I was shocked when he was saying stuff like "tumult". And plus he hates his life. Why?
Well, I must bring up again that Frankenstein's monster is a creeper. He was stalking a family of 3 (a father and his two children) for about 8 months and leaving wood on their doorstep. He finally gets the courage to talk to them, and they, frightened by his appearance, proceed to bash his head in with a skillet. Okay, maybe not a skillet, but they chase him out with a plethora of kitchen tools. Heh heh heh.
Great story. But I wonder what's gonna happen to the monster and if the village people will try to kill him simply because he's ugly.
