The Blog About Nothing

I know I have a pretty strict "don't talk about my personal life" policy. But this is one of those few times I must break it, simply because I'm fed up with peoples' first impressions!!!

The first day of school the lunchlady made me buy a hamburger, so I randomly came up to some kid and asked him if he wanted it. And there started the friendship of me and Robert (or sometimes I pronounce his name like Roh-bear, kinda like in the Colbert Report). I learned he's a senior and he's from Chicago. And oddly enough, he fit into my very strange group of friends. I dunno how he does it.

So we've known each other for approximately 3 months. Within that 3 month time span, we've had a TON of people asking us "Are you guys... brother and sister?". Yes, while I was here last year, I kept my brother, who is older than me by a mere 9 months, in a closet and I let him out this year. Isn't he such a good boy?! No, that is not what happened! It's physically impossible for us to be brother and sister. Although I can admit we have a lot of alike features- we both have dark brown hair and green eyes. We even act kinda alike o.O

Which brings me to the next misconception. "You two cousins or something?" Well I'll admit that this is a step up from brother and sister. Not like I'd have enough room in my closet for a cousin. A brother perhaps, but cousin would be pushing it. Even so, the only aunt and uncle I have out here already have 3 kids that are well into their thirties. Unless I have a long lost aunt and uncle! But that's quite unlikely.

We're not related in any way, shape, or form ("We're not siblings, we're not cousins, he's not my uncle, I'm not his daughter, and he's not my grandpa!!!"). "So then you two are dating?" WRONG! This would be the most popular guess though. After 2 weeks of us knowing Roberto all my friends thought I had picked up a new boyfriend (okay, I don't go through guys quite that quickly...). Even today Sean asked Robert if we were going out. Let's keep in mind, I had a GIGANTIC crush on Sean last year in spanish class. Let's also keep in mind just how dirty minded he is. So his next question to Robert was "Did you two bang yet?". Robert, being a passive quiet guy, was like like "...?". I do know for a fact though, Robert does indeed like me! He told me so. But considering my history with boys, I'm not gonna date him. I like being friends.

But apparently in peoples' eyes we are NOT friends, we're somehow related or dating!
