Jun 24, 2008 This period is Carnival season in the Netherlands, Zomercarnaval.
My topfriends for this week are One-time-and -forever Carnival Queens who have represented their country, school, district, organisation, club, and so on, during that big cultural and festive manifestation that is carnival. These ladies have worn their hard earned crowns with pride and joy and will forever be remembered for being That Queen of That year.
Featured are Carnival Queens, Youth Carnival Queens and Children Carnival Queens who once graced the streets of their country leading their group, school, organisation, district and/or their whole community down the streets, dancing, in roadpieces or on wonderful floats.
Here's to YOU, once-and-always Queens, may your crowns shine on long after the music truck has passed...
