Helm's a'lee

Three kids and a Jolly Roger

Went for a sail from Bellerive across the river and back with Esther and with Toby and Ollie from over the road. Forecast was 10-20 kn N-NW. With staysail and reefed main we had a fun sail with a the occasional rain shower. By the end Ollie was lying in the shrouds begging us to heal further over so he'd get wet.

We hoisted the Jolly Roger to the gaff peak for the first time. The Lady Nelson was motoring around practicing man-overboard drill with the worlds longest boat hook.

The auxillary battery is still flat, and I suspect I'll need to put it on a charger. The mast band is straining the coach screws badly and the shrouds seem a bit slack.

Gusty time near the wharfDroughty Point and back
