Helm's a'lee

Scrubbed her bottom

I had Brigadoon up on the slips for the first time.

I'd never slipped Brigadoon before. I put her up on the slips at Bellerive Yacht Club, scrubbed her, and gave her two coats of anti-fouling.

The bottom was in much better condition that I feared. There are a couple of places where the paint and epoxy have worn away, so I primed them thickly and hoped for the best. I also learnt that I should have sprayed her a bit harder as there was still a little flakey paint when I started repainting.
I also:
  • changed her anodes
  • got the log working
  • and installed the new EPIRB.

The bad idea was paining the deck late one evening in the failing light - very patchy.
