Notes on my trip to Yellowstone

After running a 250 mile gauntlet of small town cops at high speed, I made a four-wheel drift into my driveway and screeched to a halt. I got out, patted the hood of my Cadillac, and was again satisfied that I could outrun the lights and sirens with the best of the banditry.

I am tired after a very short but pleasant visit with my brother in Jackson Hole Wyoming, where he located his research laboratory. He is so very busy that we seldom have quality time together, and we both needed to get together. He graciously put up my wife and I at his digs on top of a mountain near the town, and we went fishing together both in the Jackson area and at nearby Yellowstone Park.

When I found out that Ben Bernanke and his Federal Reserve cronies were holding a meeting at the Jackson Lake Lodge, I was nearly diverted from my fishing plans. I considered releasing an enraged Grizzly Bear in the main dining area, but I later found out that they were hidden behind closed doors, playing Liar's Poker.

Oh well, some other time, I guess.

I had a great time fishing with my brother, and I am sure Robyn was pleased to get me out from under foot at our home in Utah. This will be a brief post this time, but I took a few poor photos which I have posted in a new photo album for all of my Opera readers to scoff at and enjoy. I hope I can go up there for another great adventure soon.

Oh, I should report that the volcano is still sleeping at Yellowstone. Perhaps they appeased it with a few National Park Service virgins (if such a thing exists).

Hi Carol, thanks for the visit. Good times with family are always the best memories! smile

Hi Erwin, thanks for the visit! smile

Hi David, It's hard for me to distinguish the two as I am on a permanent vacation now (except for being glued to the computer trading stocks) bigsmile

You are welcome David.

Well Vancouver, Newfoundland, Britain & Guam look like they're in for a shake shortly, if that helps your stocks any. Copper might jump for a few days by Sept 8, as Bolivia just had a tremor - the Cu mines at Peru usually get one too within a fortnight.

Hi 53north, I'll buy some stock in Southern Copper (Peru)!! smile

It looks like fishing is the same as sailing: a very hard life, but someone have to do it! Thanks for a great laf and a fantastic story. when you bought those stocks maybe its time to visit Hollywood?

DavidRavo Tuesday, August 25, 2009 9:54:55 PM

Hi Atle, Glad you enjoyed it!
Yes, they are both hard work. If the stocks go up, Hollywood will come to me! bigsmile
