Megavideo is flagged on my 'Web of Trust' filter as a dangerous site.
By the way : I'm curious how you happened to land at my place. It's not as though I'm an Opera social lion. Not a problem, of course.

WoT is a Firefox add-on. When posting, I find it the only browser which saves posts in the buffer if it crashes.
Flash is funny stuff. I was Trojaned into a spam bot in June right through a mechanical email filter. That killed my email account when outbound traffic started.
If I got it in the browser, IE 7 would be the first I would suspect. Since I ran then - and now - a number of browsers it would be tough to pinpoint which.
I tossed Windows XP Home off the computer and had Ubuntu installed; not being amused.
http://www.avantbrowser.com/ is based on IE

Ubuntu is on my computer now : Windows is not. I had had Panda installed and it couldn't find the problem on an online scan: that's why I made the change.
I tried Mandriva linux with a KDE desktop some years ago on a dual-boot arrangement and found the same frustrations you talk about : problems figuring out how to run applications.
I changed to 8.10 and should have left it at 8.04 Hardy Heron as I'm chasing problems. Updates are impressive though : the system keeps itself tidied up and is really rather slick at finding help and getting what it needs.
I'm not ready to give up yet - I understand a WINE emulator will run Windows programs.Nepmak 2000 ( friend ) has written on running Windows programs in Linux. There's stuff in the forums, too.
