The adventures of a man in his kitchen

The Black Plague

, , ,

Have you ever had one bad day? I mean, one terribly and utterly and amazingly and unforgettably bad day?
I hope you didn't, and I hope today it wasn't that, for me... I confess I had quite an unhappy day, but I believe it can still be fixed.
Guys, don't you ever think of how awful is to discover your food deposit is infested with the gourmet Black Plague, mini bugs, small black beetles walking through some of your food or up the walls... Man, this is bad, and this is scary.
The good news is, I think I discovered it soon enough. I quickly found out the source of all evil (a bag of corn flour), removed and sprayed it and threw it in the garbage. I have looked in my deposit for other contaminated food, but couldn't really find much. It's a kind of bug that usually attacks flours, rices and beans, so all I needed was to check mainly those itens, and make a quick check in others.
But what I really feared was losing my two little treasures I kept there:

The first one is a huge Cadbury Chocolate bar, which is just the BEST milk chocolate I've ever had (yup, better than some artisanal chocolates I've had here in Brazil), and I just couldn't believe it was from England. I suppose that's a proof that Englishmen can actually cook something good! Hahahah
And my second treasure is something I bought for a friend and I'm keeping it here, to use in some extremely special occasion.

Yup, you've read it right. It's an 100% Cocoa chocolate bar from Ghirardelli. I have bought it last time I went to US, and I confess I just bought it for curiosity. Now, I treat it as a great treasure, and I'm waiting for orders from my friend to do whatever she wants with this cocoa bar. (I'm just afraid it ends up in the category "Too good to use"...)
Anyway, now I know my little pretties are good and safe, and, following my friend's suggestion, I'm having a nice cup of tea, to finish this stressful day... Hehehe
Good night, everyone!

Minami Kohime writes: Good that you did as I had said. And good that you are keeping MY Ghirardelli bar, although you are the one who will make something out of it. And, no, nothing is too good to be used IF IT IS MEANT TO BE EATEN. And so I have said. MY BAR! MY PRECIOUSSSS!!!!!! Kisu~
