Gingerbread House

But please, these last two months have been crazy for me... at least, I could complete, a little bit late, my Christmas Daring Bakers' Challenge! And Merry Late Christmas, everyone!
The December 2009 Daring Bakers’ challenge was brought to you by Anna of Very Small Anna and Y of Lemonpi. They chose to challenge Daring Bakers’ everywhere to bake and assemble a gingerbread house from scratch. They chose recipes from Good Housekeeping and from The Great Scandinavian Baking Book as the challenge recipes.
It sure is a challenge, especially for a Brazilian who has never build something such as a house made of gingerbread!
I decided to go for the first recipe, from Good Housekeeping, but went just for half, and still, I used half of all my dough. So, if you decide to make something like one third of that recipe, you should be quite good, for assembling a single gingerbread!
It is important to make all the paper stuff before, so, when you cut and bake, you'll be sure you have all the pieces you'll need. I was about to forget my roof! But I still had time and dough to fix it! Hahahah
Ah, yes, and it's a really tough task to assembly all the house using only some sugar syrup, Royal Icing and more gingerbread! I just felt like using the cing as Play Doh, to put everything up and firm!
But well, I did love assembling it, and am really proud of my sweet ugly little Gingerbread House!
Check out the recipes and many other more beautiful Gingerbread Houses here!
Thanks, Anna and Y! And let the next Daring Bakers' Challenge come!
