Unexpected happiness

, ,

This Sunday, my girlfriend Jolanda and me were surprised with the quick delivery of our second child: Jens!

Though Jens is very welcome of course, this childbirth was premature by six weeks (calculated date: Dec 26), and so at least three weeks too early. Jens (all 1850 grams of him, tiny but complete) has to stay at the hospital for the time being. Expect to see less of me in the Opera community for a while, I've got better things to do smile

(Now if the hospital had Wifi things might be a little bit different....)

(Originally this posting was marked as 'friends only', but it is not a secret. I just didn't feel like every Opera tweaker is interested in my private affairs...)

By 'girlfriend', do you mean 'wife'?

Congratulations, Rijk! Since the premature birth apparently (and luckily) didn't have any unwanted consequences, you can at least say Jens didn't turn your Christmas upside down (note for non-Dutch people: Dec 26 is "Christmas day with the in-laws in Holland" bigsmile). Hope everything goes well.

Congratulations Rijk and Jolanda and Welcome Jens. Being myself a young father I more than encourage you to take the time necessary for your family.

I'll keep an eye on your photo album for some pictures!

Thanks!

Everything is well. Jolanda and me didn't actually marry, but when you have a mortgage and two kids together, that amounts to the same thing smile

And I'll post some pictures soon!

Congratulations, Rijk!
As a proud father of a son and a daughter I have to say, that I haven't so enough time to computing, but I have to say, THAT IT'S WORTH!
