Reifel, Scaup, Hen, Lesser
Here's a hen Lesser Scaup. She was grooming her belly. Half rolled over with a foot out of the water, she was struggling to get to one spot. While doing this, her feet were kicking and with one foot out the the water, she was going around in circles. It was quite humorous!

Reifel, Scaup, Duck
Here's a shot of a single Scaup. Never could figure out the difference between the Greater and the Lesser. Suffice it's a Scaup!
Wee got our first snow fall of the year! Hope it doesn't get carried away!

Reifel, Scaup, Duck
I really liked the water in this shot! The ducks, well not so much, but the water sold me!

Scaup
I'm not going to say if these are Lesser Scaup of Greater Scaup. Two species of duck that I find impossible to differentiate between! Suffice it to say that they are Scaup.
It snowed last night! We got about 3 inches. Probably won't last long but it's a pain in the back anyway!
Have a nice Sunday.

Scaup
Here's a Scaup groom. I like the way the light played on the ripples made by the duck.
Another sunny day around here. A bit cool, with some frost this morning, but quite nice anyway.
Have a nice day.

Reifel, Scaup, Duck
Grooming is very important to ducks. It keeps everything in line and most importantly it ensures they stay buoyant and waterproof. Thus keeping warm. Here a Scaup does just that. Not sure if it's a Greater or Lesser Scaup. But a Scaup it is.
There's a little fancy and some macro,
HERE and
HERE. Have a look!
It's definitely a November morning around here. Raining, foggy and dark. But it's mild!
Have a great day, despite the weather!

A'grove Lake Duck Pond, Scaup, Lesser, Duck
The ducks at my newly discovered duck pond are truly wild birds. They haven't been humanized like those, say at Mill Lake. They don't see many people. So they make a hasty retreat to the other side of the island when they do see someone.
This Lesser Scaups mate was in that group that disappeared, leaving Momma kind of swimming in circles looking for him. I'm sure they hooked up again when I left!
