Hello Opera fans ,
As you can see Opera seems to be taking a more aggressive stance in ther battle for market shares of the Internet. I like the marketing approach. It is well time that Opera shed the meek little browser from Up North.
After test driving the new Alpha that looks on the surface no different than Opera 11.01 and seeing no readily apparent changes I began to wonder if Barracuda was all marketing talk? I seemed to have many more bugs that 11.01 had.
It was not until I put my foot on the gas pedal that I began to see why they had called it "Barracuda"
A much different image came to mind for Marketing

This Barracuda Is really much Faster while conserving gas !! It was so much better that I had Thought that they had Enabled HA ..

It Takes Opera video delivery speed to a entirely new level . imagine watching a online video and having it look almost like cable tv whoot !!
I had to try it one some HTML5 webm vp8 vids that I had on my Unite site and was impressed with the performance of the "Barracuda" check the stats of task manager while a vid is running in opera below.
Opera "barracuda" is pulling 27% off my single core 1.8 gig cpu and only 543 mb page file with five tabs open.
The new Alpha has a long way to go before it is ready for the public. The Speed And Performance improvements had quit a few unexpected side effects but from what I have seen this is going to be all good. The Development team is already hard at work debugging. I don't recommend that you run right out and download barracuda just yet
besides there was this statement "Barracuda" is also the code name of the upcoming 11.10 version of the Opera browser. This is the first of a series of Opera versions where each one will have an associated code name.
the best is yet to come ... the Truth is out there
cheers!!
