It has been a time and I am thinking of returning. Perhaps.

The doll house

I have added a new photo album containing pictures of a doll house which cost me about $2,000 and the majority of my free time during 2001 and 2002. Was the time and money well spent? I guess. I very much enjoyed the project and I take pride in the result.

You may notice that the house does not contain a kitchen or a bathroom. What can I say? You can't have everything. I thought a country doctor's office would be more fun than the usual stove, refrigerator and toilet.

Oh yes, a monster cat lived in the house before interior work began. He was evicted.

Great White Way

It was in the attic.

I happened upon this sculpture of myself the other day. I admit, it was commissioned a few years back, however, there is little change in the likeness.

I have decided to post it for a limited time so that all may be better able to picture me in their thoughts while reading my posts.

Facade

I've downloaded the heavily AI dependent, interactive fiction game, Facade.

In it's review, the New York Times declared that "This is the future of video games". I would agree, but there is some way to go. In any event, I think you will find the download worthwhile. You will need BitTorrent and some time.

The game begins with an invitation to visit at the apartment of your friends, Trip and Grace. You find them in the midst of an argument which could well lead to the end of their 30's something marriage. Your goal is to convince them to stay together. Why? I don't know.

So far, I have spent my two visits with the couple flirting with Grace and being unceremoniously escorted to the front door. I promise to be good next time and play the game as it was designed.
