Super 8
Cherry and lime. Chocolate and peanut butter. Some combinations are delicious. J.J. Abrams, writer and director of stories that are typically too complicated for their own good, or stories that abandon logic and reason for "coolness", tries his hand at combining stories for Super 8; A movie where "E.T." meets "Aliens". Whether or not it worked is debatable.

Goldeneye, review, James Bond, 007

Goldeneye. The name is pretty much synonymous with the concept of multiplayer. Back in the age of the Nintendo 64, and a time when large gaming companies like Nintendo could actually be so bold as to own the rights to the video game adaptation of a movie brand (it'd be unheard of today), Nintendo ... which could do no wrong, by the way... gathered together a small group of developers called Rare to make the video game adaptation of the James Bond film.

Red Steel, FPS, Red Steel 2, sword

Ubisoft has an odd habit of completely throwing out the previous story of a game for it's sequel. They did it for Far Cry 2 and they now repeat the formula for Red Steel 2, the sequel to the sword wielding first person shooter launch title that appeared on Wii three years ago. This time around Red Steel 2 trades the yakuza for a Firefly-esque merging of old west and asian culture. Does the game succeed, or is it time to head to the gallows with this franchise?
