Yes, it is a "old" piece, but a classic smile

lol I am sorry.. but couldnt help but smile at the earlier comments..

I personally quite liked the musical piece...the fusion is quite flawless, not that I expected it to be! And the music does have every now and then elements of Indian music, which are so familiar along with the western beats which are well.. popular!!

You do have an ear for music up

The reason this is "a Classic" is that John Mclaughlin virtually created "the fusion" as a changre (can't find the right spelling sad)
Lila's dance is from the second album with Mahavishnu Orchestra, the first was: Birds of fire
The first album was a shock 2 the music scene at that time.
Noboddy had ever mixed things like that up
Later he formed "Shakti", do you know them ?
Here he played with 4-5 indian mucisians, 2 background citars, one tabla player, one "clay-pot-player" (long story), and ...ravi shankars son on violin !
He played on an insanely expensive custom built Gibson, with 12 underlying strings going 45 degress over the sound hole on the body, and the freetboard specially deepend under every freet scared
It sounded insanely good, as he tuned the 12 strings in indian scales, and used them 2 emphasis what he played.
Most original guitar player seen between 1974-2000 and ...?
I'll try 2 find an example sherlock
