That website is a mess for now, but I'll be posting in sequential order. I hope you enjoy my little series and find it interesting even if you think I'm completely off my rocker.

more like...get rockin'.
You have some living to do to be able to elaborate on the things you touched on.
I have to admit, it made me giggle a bit.
Not at you..ideals in infancy just tend to do that to me.

Also I happen to be reading Paul Johnson's book, The civilization of ancient Egypt right now. This was such a long lived civilization, that it wasn't always the same. For instance, What seems to happen in a lot of societies when governments collapse, is that instead of the population functioning smoothly without any governmental guidance, what instead emerges are a lot of mini-bosses (for example, think of all the war lords in Somalia). This is what happened whenever Egypt's central government collapsed. Here's a longish quote on the state of affairs under these circumstances:
When the Roman empire fell, the order that emerged from the chaos was a lot of feudal kingdoms (think war-lords), similar to what happened in Egypt.
And when there isn't "rule of law", revenge killings and general feuding seems to ensue. Someone in your clan is murdered, so you go kill someone in the perpetrator's clan. It doesn't matter whether you get the "right" person or not, so long as their clan suffers for what they did. Now its the other clan's turn. I guess that's an emergent order of sorts, but I can't say I find it particularly appealing.
I don't like the idea of centrally managed economies. I don't like governmental attempts to do social engineering. I don't like big government. But I do want small government. The "no government" solution has been tried again and again. You end up with clan factions, war lords, and feuding.

I watched the vid you linked to. It was not clear what you had to do with that?
I'm interested in emergent behavior of small groups: ie. musical groups.
At some point, everyone in a small group can do what they couldn't do before as a result of
being 'in the group.' I've noticed this with a singing group I'm in. Sometimes I just seem to know
what to do at the right time to succeed. When I (physically) leave the group, not-so-much.
You can call it rational self-interest, or you can just call it being 'on-the-bus.'
