My study related excursion to Dresden and other parts in east Germany was great!
I really had much fun there and I visited a lot.
I never have been in east Germany before. So it was a very interesting experience for me.
Dresden is a very nice city. Compared with all other cities in east Germany it's the strongest in economy. Maybe you heard that east Germany is not so strong in economy like west Germany. Unfortunately the unemployment rate is also higher...
You can really visit so much sights in Dresden. There are so much beautiful old buildings from different eras like baroque, renaissance, classic and neo architectural style of historism. That's really impressive! I took so much photos there.
I also visited the famous "Frauenkirche" in Dresden. It's a famous protestant baroque church. Now I can say it's one of the most beautiful churches I ever visited.
Unfortunately photos were not allowed there. So I can't show photos from inside. But I took some photos from outside and from the top of the church.
A very famous part of Dresden is "Pillnitz". It looks a little bit like a very small village. We used a very special vehicle to visit Pillnitz.
In Dresden we bought a ticket for a paddlesteamer. (White fleed armada of Dresden)
It's the oldest and biggest paddlesteamer fleet in the world. Even more old like the paddlesteamers on the Mississippi river. A very nice experience.
Pillnitz is very famous for the castle park and the palace. The park (like an english garden) and scenery is so nice and beautiful. I really recommend it to others.
An other interesting place we visited was the Saechsische Schweiz (Saxon Switzerland). The rocks and the nature there are unbelievable!
Really a very very nice and impressive place for hiking and climbing! Unfortunately it was very rainy and cloudy on this day. So we couldn't see much. It was really a pity and very sad because the scenery is so beautiful there.
I never saw such a beautiful rock scenery before in real life. Very very impressive. Somewhere in future I wanna visit this place again. I hope without rain and fog. Then I wanna take better photos.
An other interesting place was Goerlitz. It's the most east located city in Germany. Well at first I thought it's a very ugly city because there are so much damaged buildings and similar things. It's one of the poorest regions in Germany. But the old part is very very beautiful.
It looks a little bit like in German medieval times and is very impressive! But it's really a big contrast in this city. In one part you can only see buildings with precast concrete slabs.
Other parts are damaged or not restored and the old part is very beautiful. Really strange to see this all in one city.
But there was also a very funny situation for me. I got a new record in "shortest time stayed in another country".
On the other side of the river was Poland. Most students forgot their pass, but not me. So I thought let's visit Poland a short time. Well I was a little bit in a hurry, because the other students couldn't wait. So I crossed the border, rushed into the next shop, bought six postcards and ran back.
Now I can say I visited Poland for 3-5 minutes. (By the way. My "old record" was three or four hours in Sweden.
)
Well I also visited much other places on my excursion. But I think these events here was the most interesting for my Blog. The other things are more study related I think.
It was really a fantastic trip for me.
Hope it was interesting for you to read my little report. Please visit my new albums, too!
Best regards,
Heiko

My classmate has just came back from Germany, she told me the country was great!
Plus, she also told me that in Europe, usually people don't dry out the blood when they kill pigs, cows, etc. Is it true? Here we kill the animal and clean the blood, so the meat won't be smelly.

I'm very happy you like my photos here. Thank you very much!
I hope you can visit Germany somewhere in future, too. ^^
But I hope you are not in a hurry like me then and you can stay longer than 3-5 minutes.

I'm glad your classmate likes Germany. Where did she stay in Germany? I hope you can also visit Germany somewhere in future.^^
About your question.
But I don't know much about other countries in this case. Maybe in some parts in Germany it's not common?
Thank you very very much, too.
Best wishes,
汉克
