My Opera【Day16-17】WEEKEND OBSERVATION

This weekend i have explored and observed more than i could know.
: What Make of This Ecnomic Center?
Thanks to Orange Dennis (my high school buddy, currently an architect intern in one of the most prestigous highrises in SH), my weekend did not go vain as I rediscovered Pu Doing Ecnomic Zone of Shanghai.
People always says SH is a place full of chances and i have always been wondering where on earth are they hidding.
So on knowing Dennis, as an intern,is working in the most prosperous area, i asked him to show around the Securities Building in Lu Jiazu Ecnomic Zone.
I browsed the entire floor and the big sheet recording all names of enterprises in the building, the result was obvious, most are law firms, securities and investment, foreign trade companies.
so the core word is naturally ECONOMY. how silly i am as i have alway avoiding getting familiar with knowlege of this kind in the name of poor performances in maths and statistics!!
Although my ideal life is living in the water village and enjoy sunshine and days with friends and parents, but the ideal working and self-improving life for me is expected to be in those highrises where i could meet and learn from people with strong abilities and further visions, where i could statisfy the self-esteem of me and my parents, where i could get the shortcut to my "ideal life"

Rediscovery of Myself-- Am I Just Like Monkey King?
It all starts with Zhang Boxuan, a postgraduate of Computer Sciences and is curretnly doing intern in P&G, shanghai, which is among hottest positions for college graduates.
I visited him and found out his life was full of Excels and statictics. He is in charge of the storage management. He is the person that says "Engslish is merely a tool" to me whenever we meet. And this heading question is finally realized by myself as i said to him "English is merely a tool".
"Why do u just limit ur self to translation as limited as Monkey King to his Tight Hoop"----in chinese traditional stories, Monkey king wears this hoop and whenever he does something out of the scale ruled by his Master, his head would suffer pain from this hoop----------and now i am just like monkey king, suffering the same limitation, while i am even worst than him, as i wear this hoop so willingly!!
My thoughts could not go back to the highrises i saw on the previous day. Highrises, well-paid and self-realized life...
i come to SH, it is a challege, but did i really challenge myself??
No!!
I just shelter in the shell of my major, i dare not step up a little!
So what's the differences for me as to where i start my career if I do not open to alternatives?!
Thus i could not help wondering what potentials are:
it is not my perseverance as to learn english and translation
as potential is something that i have never found out before and will be trigger later.
So why not give ur self a chance to free ur self from ur major?
Let the major be the helper ,not the dominator.
I once used to say "so long as i could use my english in the work, i shall accept this offer",
but do i really competitive enough in this field, a filed in which u could easily be substitued??
What about me then? I really do not know.
There are so many fields out there ,waiting for u to explore and test.
Only by experiencing shall i know wether i shall choose it or not.
The orientation of my career shall not be limited as to transatlioion, while I am so in great need of a BASE.
What base shall it be ? I do not know so far, yet i shall keep on finding.[/COLOR]

Experiences on Taking a Taxi In SH
This is a day that i Paid to get understood.
First of all, taxi shall never be the saver when u are lost.
Because a taxi driver can be lost on the way, esp in a huge city sperated by a river like SH.
Drivers of the other bank knows little about the routes on this bank.
So i shall never wave so radomly to a driver as he is nothing but the solution to my direction problems, as u urself shall bare all the expenditures on both the wroing paths and time for inquiry.
Second of all, clors do tell.
In SH taxis are distinguished by color as they belong to different companies.
Colors not only tells u the layout of the taxi, more importatntly, the services and costomer trust which goes with it.
The nicest one are WHITE, BLUE & GREEN.-------the pure color are really original, not like the dark red one i took , the color of which is a hybrid and so is its bad service.
everyting here in SH is marked by brand--brand recognition is after all good for ourselves as we are the consumers.
Third of all, names means nothing.
Who once says "A rose is just named by thus rose"---if we call a rose "apple", apple is the name for that flower.
The same it ture with the names of bus stops.
I overtrusted myslef as the 794bus stop at "Centry Park",yet this park has many gates all named after this CP, thus i got off the bus 2 stops ealier, resulting in a overpayment of my carelessness and lack of common sense.
If only i had asked the name of the steet where the subway is instead of this huge park which is not the one-to-to corrspondant road mark to my destination.
If only I had firstly asked the driver if he knows the destination or if he drives on this bank beofre he erects the calculation machine.
Anyway, i have paid to learn.
I was told that people learn through their own experiences, as well as observing other's experiences.
Today i learned and hope my lovely friends from myopera be aware of this point when u happen to be in SH, China.[/COLOR][/COLOR][/COLOR]
