SCARLETT JOHANSSONANYWHERE I LAY MY HEAD (2008)
192 KBPS
In 2006 Scarlett Johansson said she wanted to make an album of Tom Waits' covers. In 2008 the album's finaly available.
With David Sitek of TV On The Radio's fame producing, she delivers an amazing debut. Far from what actresses deliver when they make an album, Anywhere I Lay My Head is a dreamy and artsy album. Scarlett's kind of disincarnated voice fits Tom Waits' universe perfectly even more as Sitek's musical constructions are just the perfect background to serve it.
Notable guests are Yeah Yeah Yeahs' guitarist and David Bowie... Who can go wrong with these people?
All in all, this album, though not flawless, is an excellent surprise where one could have feared another unsavoury actress gone singing's album. Try it!

Pour ma part, il y avait longtemps que je n'avais pas entendu une telle imposture musicale. Tom Waits devrait attaquer Scarlett pour avoir de ses bijoux de tels boules puantes.
Heureusement, ce n'est que mon avis
