The Ship for World Youth program is organized and implemented by the Management and Coordination Agency of the Japanese Government in conjunction with the Cabinet Office. For foreigners, The Government of Japan covers the cost of airfares to and accommodation in Japan and during the cruise. Only a small amount of spending money is needed for free time during port of call visits and to purchase items from the bar, vending machines & souvenir shop on board the Ship.
For Japanese participant, 1人当たり約20万円程度です. 詳しい情報はこちら>>

In case of Philippino, you can apply for the Ship for Southeast Asian Youth program (SSEAYP). More info at: http://www.siphilippines.com/
To Anonymous,
To get in touch with the previous members ten years ago, you probably can find the information at the SWY Alumni association page. ( http://www.swyaa.org/links/links.htm )

For ASEAN countries, you can apply only for SSEAYP
For non-ASEAN countries, you can apply for SWY (Note that only the countries that are randomly invited by the Japanese government each year)
